Shooting Stars began the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season on a winning note following a 2-1 victory over newly-promoted Inter Lagos.
The hosts made a bright start to the encounter, putting the visitors under sustained pressure in the opening exchanges.
Their dominance was rewarded in the 14th minute when Lucky Emmanuel found the back of the net to give Shooting Stars the lead.
Inter Lagos responded strongly and drew level nine minutes later through Adigun Damilare, who finished off a fine delivery into the box.

Shooting Stars regained the lead in first-half stoppage time after Sodiq Ibrahim calmly converted from the penalty spot.
The contest became more evenly balanced after the break, with both sides creating opportunities to add to the scoreline.
Shooting Stars had the chance to put the game beyond Inter Lagos in stoppage time, but Mustapha Adams failed to convert a second penalty.
The Oluyole Warriors, however, held on to secure all three points in the opening fixture of the new NPFL campaign.
The rest of the matchday one fixtures are scheduled to take place on Sunday.
