Theresa Daniel has won Team Akwa Ibom’s first medal at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
Daniel claimed gold medal in the weightlifting event.
She won the medal for Akwa Ibom State in the 55kg category.

Mfoniso David also won bronze medal for Team Akwa Ibom in Kung Fu Changquan demonstration event.
The state is pushing for a strong finish on the medals table after an impressive showing at the previous edition in Asaba, Delta State.
Akwa Ibom finished in 10th position with 14 gold, 15 silver and 33 bronze medals.
