Team Lagos secured a hard-fought 25-24 victory over Sokoto in the men’s basketball event at the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Sokoto started the game strongly but were later overpowered by their opponent.
Lagos head coach, Duro Olubukola praised her players for their resolute performance in the game.
“It was a difficult game for us, and i want to praise our opponent too for their performance. They actually make tough things for us,” Olubukola said after the game.

“My players also raised their game after a difficult start. We deserved to win the game.
“I must also say that the weather made things difficult for us. You could see too, the weather here is extremely harsh.”
In another keenly contested game, Niger also recorded a 25-24 win over Kano.
Team Enugu suffered a walk over after arriving late for their game against Edo State.
Enugu will do table with Adamawa State in their next game.
Action will continue in the basketball event at the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja, Abeokuta on Tuesday.
