Nwakaeme Bags 10th League Goal As Trabzonspor Remain Top After Draw At Fenerbahce

Anthony Nwakaeme netted his 10th goal of the season in the Turkish Super Lig which was however not enough, as Trabzonspor could only draw 1-1 away to 10-man Fenerbahce on Sunday.

Nwakaeme put Trabzonspor 1-0 ahead in the 22nd minute just four minutes after Fenerbahce were reduced to 10 men.

The 32-year-old, who featured in his 22nd league appearance against Fenerbahce, has now scored four goals in his last four games.

Despite playing with a man down, Fenerbahce equalised in the 71st minute through Miha Zajc.

Prior to Sunday’s fixture Trabzonspor had won their last seven games.

They remain top on 67 points and are 15 points ahead of second placed Konyaspor in the league standing.

  • Anthony Nwakaeme was capped by former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr in a World Cup away feature with the Fennecs of Algeria. Unfortunately, that game was eventually nullified by FIFA as Nigeria paraded an ineligible player in the World Cup qualifier thus striping him of the lone cap. It’s a surprise that despite his performance in that game and subsequent goals galore at his clubside, the German gaffer never called him up again.Even at 32,Nwakaeme can still be a late bloomer on the international stage. He deserves a look in. Coaches Augustine Eguavoen and Emmanuel Amuneke should run the rule over the Turkey-baded striker after the game with the Black Stars of Ghana.

Rohr and his people asked him to changed his management to their agency DW Sports Management and he refused… Rohr was just a coded businessman that had us fooled for over 6years…

      • OmoEsan 2 years ago

Eguavpen and his crew probably asked him to change his agency too, or how do we explain the fact that they too didn’t invited Nwakaeme for AFCON and the crucial Ghana tie?

        • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

          Hahahahaha….awesome reply OmoEsan….LMAOoo. Epic…!

Rohr must still be the reason their own has refused to invite him when the opportunity has presented itself 3 times – 2ce before AFCON and now…..LMAOooo.

The last time I checked, Rohr invited Nwakaeme to the SE on 5 different occasions (double header vs Cameroon, vs Zambia, vs Algeria and vs Argentina) and he couldnt break into the team. He got his opportunity against Algeria and failed to make good use of it, giving us the worst 70 minutes any debutant ever gave under Rohr….LMAOooooo…justifying why he hadnt been able to break into the team

And instead of blaming himself, he and his brother chose to blame Rohr with all sort of flimsy excuses….LMAOooo.

I guess he was on the books of DW Sports management when he got those previous call ups from Rohr…or maybe, not being on the books of DW sports was the reason he couldnt deisplace any of those he met in the team and flopped when he was eventually given a chance to show what he can do for the SE.

Well said Brotherman. Nwakaeme can be a mercenary for Nigeria if invited. But I doubt it will happen.

@Pablo don’t mind all those rumour mongers especially that fraudulent impersonator @JimmyBall

GENERAL ROAH gave nwaekeme a chance in 2017 against Algeria.

The guy played against GENERAL ROAH instructions. So roah had to drop him and invite someone serious. He had to test others..

So after that incident the elder (brother) Nwaekeme went about granting interviews tarnishing Roah’s name that roah beg for him to be managed by his angencies bla bla… All because roah Stop inviting him..

Unfortunately he remains one of the country’s most consistent performer who never gets a look in by the people in charge. So sad.

Same with AKPOGUMA who plays for a top 7 clubdide in a top 5 EUROPEAN LEAGUE and yet never gets considered meanwhile CYPRUS based defender is considered as well as DIVISION 2 players in SPAIN and England. Even a bench warmer in a DIVISION 2 clunsidr in SAUDI ARABIA gets a call up at the detriment of a regular in a top 5 EUROPEAN LEAGUE!

    Najeriya we hail thee.
Sad that local coaches for whatever reasons will not fail to behave typical. Little wonder NFF either hands the rein to them or backwater coaches like GERNOT ROHR who they can also manipulate!

    Good luck SE

  • @JimmyBall,thanks for the information. It was a puzzle Anthony Nwakaeme never got called up again by Rohr. Now we know better.I also noticed players like Mikel Agu,Abdullahi Shehu,Paul Onuachu were always invited under Gernot Rohr. Now Ogenyi Onazi,of all people,is back on the national team set up despite being in the cooler for many years and playing in the lowly Saudi Arabia second division league courtesy of coaches Eguavoen and Amuneke. Yet in-form players like Cyriel Dessers,Kevin Akpoguma,Terem Moffi,Innocent Bonke,Anthony Nwakaeme ,Raphael Onyedika,Alhassan Yusuf,Obinna Nwobodo,Adebayo Adeleye were ignored.I think we should break away from the Gernot Rohr era. It’s time to change the narrative.

    Monkey, where are you?
Please come and defend Gernot Rohr here.
JimmyBall aka Mahmud Shuaib/Tamuno Offiali/Musa Yahaya, the morph king, and his supporters are here joblessly attacking Rohr, who has moved on with his life.
Monkey, I promise to give you a big plantain, ok?
    Loolz. Za Za Za!

  • @Pablo,it defies logic and common sense that you will resort to the use of offensive words against patriotic commentators on this forum without making any point. What do you mean by “JimmyBall and his supporters are joblessly attacking Gernot Rohr who has moved on with his life”. Instead of calling someone else to offer their positions ,what stops you from availing us of your own opinion? Next time, try to be more civil and circumspect in your submissions. It is not my intention to join issues with you,but I think this forum should not be place for abuses and insults. Thanks for your understanding.

  • @Hillary Ochiabuto you for no reply That @Pablo he is a poser I know he is Either @MONKEY POST or @DR DREY one of the two if not both I tell you something that Pablo is 1 person posing as two and it is one of the aforementioned names.
