Jose Mourinho has been officially unveiled as the new head coach of Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
The Portuguese, whose appointment was confirmed by Fenerbahce on their X handle, is now the coach of Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Mourinho, who met the club fans on Sunday, signed the official contract with the Yellow Canaries in front of the fans at Ulker Stadium.
He then signed a Fenerbahce jersey with several fans selected from the crowd.
Addressing the fans, Mourinho said: “First of all, I want to thank you all for your love. I’ve felt it since the first time my name was linked with Fenerbahce.”
He added that the love of fans for managers normally comes with achievements but this great appreciation at the beginning gives him a great responsibility.
He noted that ever since he met the club president, Ali Koc, he wanted to be Fenerbahce’s head coach because he understood his ideals for the club.
Mourinho was coach of AS Roma before he was sacked towards the end of last season.
He helped the Serie A club win the Europa Conference League, their first-ever European trophy.
Other notable clubs he has handled include Real Madrid, Chelsea, FC Porto, Inter Milan and Manchester United.
