Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has officially signed his new contract with Napoli to June 2026.
The new contract was announced by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on his X handle on Saturday.
De Laurentiis made the announcement by posting the images of Osimhen signing the paperwork with the word: “Fatto” which means done in English.
The president had already hinted at the deal on Friday night when telling TG1 it could be ‘the surprise gift under the Christmas Tree’ for his fans.
According to reports Osimhen’s salary will increase to €10m per season after tax.
Also, there will be the inclusion of a release clause, believed to be set at €120-130m, valid only for clubs outside of Italy during the summer.
Napoli paid €75m plus bonuses to sign Osimhen from Lille in September 2020.
Last season he emerged top scorer with 26 goals, becoming the first-ever African to achieve the feat.
His impressive form in front of goal helped Napoli clinch the Serie A title for the first time since 1990.
Also, he was crowned 2023 CAF Player of the Year, morning he first Super Eagles star to win the award since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
