  • First Mexico and now Ecuador. These are very good developments for the restoration and recovery period of the Super Eagles. It will be good to see how the new management team lays out the players.

More of this kind of friendlies and the 2013 Afcon qualifiers should keep Super Eagles fans occupied in the coming months.

This is the way we are playing our own world cup.

It won’t make us forget that we are not participating anyway. But it is a step in a good direction.

While many believe that our goalkeepers are still young, I hold that if due diligence is done, we would find our best hands may in the local league or even abroad.

I wish super eagles fans well.

Nice1 coming from the football house. With these grade A matches, we, fans won’t miss Qatar much. NFF seems to get our vibes. Good luck Super Eagles.

Will surely be there, by God’s grace

  • Amaju please bring Belgium, the Eagles are hungry and their fans are thirsty. No by World cup group stage exit alone, we need good friendly games to show Ghana dem no reach. Up up SE!!!

My brother you don’t need to show Ghana anything, Nigeria already possesses quality players what you lack is good management. Whenever the stakes are high Ghana is able to beat you to it because of proper managements from the FA down to the technical team.

June 2 is not far, good news anyway. Leggo Eagles!

  • Ehen! We now have a proactive Nff. God bless Amaju, Sanusi and the crew.

Congrats fellow fans, God bless Nigeria.

  • France, Germany where una dey? Nff asking !!!

  • Good.

But I’m still angry wit both NFF and Super Eagles.

The only way to make me happy with them again is to win the two friendlies convincingly.

    God bless Nigeria.

  • @Fruday, I would prefer Lookman to Chukwueze. Besides, the list is ok.

This is a good development, and again when the world cup is going on I think we should be playing some invitational tournaments around Europe so that after the world we would be having a ready made team, there are very good football power in Europe that didn’t qualify for the world cup and also some giant African countries too, if we can get like 4 to 5 games during the period I bet you the Super Eagles will be well blended already

Scheduling a friendly match during a wc tournament is not wise. Nobody will watch it.

Carl is back, he doesn’t look like he ever left. NFF should get him, he is the missing piece (along with an attacking midfielder).

Nice one, may God just help us get Ikeme back I pray in JESUS CHRIST NAME.

    • pompei 2 years ago

He looks really fit. Has obviously been taking care of himself.
If this guy is really back, he’s a game changer for the SE. We’ve missed the heck out of him.
There are no guarantees in football, but we probably would have won the 2019 Afcon, the 2021 Afcon and qualified for the 2022 world cup if we had Ikeme in goal. Not saying Ikeme is the new Messiah, but having a solid goalie is huge for any team, and Ikeme was solid for us. He may not have been spectacular, but he doesn’t concede cheap goals.
If Ikeme is willing to come back to SE, that would be huge indeed. Even if he can’t keep again, let him come and assist Shorunmu, and help tutor the young lads.

Carl Ikeme has since announced his retirement from football following his battle with acute leukaemia. People should get their facts straight and correct before posting fictional stories, please.

    • Golden Child 2 years ago

@Abdulrazak, you are the one who should get your facts right. Me sharing a video that ” Carl is back” does not literally mean he is back playing professional football but that he has fully recovered from his ailment and he is perhaps ready to try his hands on the beautiful game again. Hence why I urged the NFF to reach out to him. At 35 years, he is still at a good age for a gk.
