Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has resumed training with Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam, reports Completesports.com.

Okoye recently linked up with Sparta Rotterdam on a two-year contract with the option for another two years after severing ties with Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf.

“First day at Office ✅,” Okoye wrote on his Twitter handle.

The 20-year-old started his career at German side Bayer Leverkusen.

In the just- concluded season, Okoye, who was Dusseldorf 2’s first choice goalkeeper featured in 14 games, conceded 26 goals and kept a clean sheet twice in Regionalliga West.

Born in Germany to a Nigerian father and German mother, Okoye pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria.

The young goalie made his international bow in the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against Brazil on October 13, 2019-coming in for Francis Uzoho in the 63rd minute.
