Olise Voted Championship Young Player Of The Season, Makes Team Of The Season

Michael Olise has been announced as winner of the EA Sports Young Player of the Season award, and has also been named as part of the Championship Team of the Season at this year’s EFL Awards ceremony.

Olise, 19, pipped fellow youngsters Harvey Elliott and Max Aarons to the award – which sees him go into the history books as part of an impressive list of past winners.

Olise has been a hugely influential creative outlet for Veljko Paunovic’s side this season, playing his part in 42 of 44 league games to date.

The French youth international has racked up an impressive six goals and ten assists with two games left of the current campaign.

The shortlists for the awards ceremony were revealed earlier in the week, and the ceremony itself was broadcast on Thursday evening.

The attacking midfielder kicked off his season with a first professional goal when he volleyed home during a 2-0 win over Barnsley back in September.

Since then, he has gone on to net against Blackburn Rovers, QPR, Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County.

Good stuffs. We need quality in our midfield to measure up to the levels we have reached in both defence and most recently attack.
Additions like this and a few others should bring a balance to a team evolving to a world class standards.
In 2026 Nigeria should be a contender for the senior world cup trophy only with a world class management, because you needs that to successfully manage a world class team.

Goal the mongopark, I hail oh, thanks for the discovery, I think I got to know about olise through ur post. I have a feeling that ejiara must have contributed in influencing olise’s dicision to play for Nigeria. The news came as a surprise because I personally didn’t expect the good news, what a great talent, Nigeria will win a medal in qater if everything goes fine, the country wll experience her greatest football achievement in history, It may be gold, silver, or bronze, qater must drop one for eagles, something must fall out for us, there is no time better than now, africa must rise up to dominate and Nigeria will take the lead, I also expect algeria to pull out something in qater, let africa make it right this time around.
The super eagles will have no space for home base players for now bcoz the quality in bulk is to much for amateurs to mingo, exept in goal keeping department.

    My formation for liberia match,

    Okoye

    Aina. Ekong. Balogun saidu

    Chukwueze. Olise ndidi. Iwobi

    Iheanacho. Osihmen

    Ozoho,nobole, awaziem, ajayi,apkoguma,ebuehi,simy, Sadiq, aribo, etebo,moses Simon,t moffi.

@Collins I’d I like you starting 11 but do you think iwobi should start ahead of Aribo. Just try and watch iwobi and Aribo’s game and give your final verdict. God bless Nigeria.

  • Collins id 4 years ago

I understand that iwobi is having club difficulties, but u can’t ignore iwobinho national team form, he is ahead of aribo in terms of national team performance, he have 9 goals already for supereagles as a playmaker. the other Africans knows that the iwobi is verry important to the eagles, thats why Benin republic deny him with covid 19 escuses bcos they know his capabilities, aribo is good, but i will replace kelechi with him if I want to return to 433 as game goes on, I don’t belong to the club judgment that is how we missed balogun in last afcon bcos of Brighton judgment, see iwobi osihmen Ndidi and chukueze have been best eagles players since after last afcon, there where times when Mikel obi was constant Benjamin in Chelsea while he was still Nigeria favourite number ten, we saw aribo against Benin you can’t compare iwobi and him for me iwobi is still ahead of aribo barring injury.

@Ciollins id… bro, football haf pass sentiments… Lol. Let Iwobi convince us starting from his club duties. Coutinho is heading to Everton now… more worries for Iwobi’s fan. He is talented and good no doubt, but maybe he has refused to take his game to the next level…

      • Adewuyi Olaosenikan 4 years ago

Iwobi is a world class player. We should know that.

  • Collins id 4 years ago

Jimmy I don’t see any sentiments here as far as I am concern iwobi is our most effective playmaker in the eagles, the evidence is clear I am personally convinced and i don’t need Everton to prove me wrong Everton is not supereagles. my advice for Everton is to sell richarlison to Manchester United he is a man u kind of player, he seems to be playing for self glory to get a bigger club, if they sell him with definitely big amount they should strengthen their defence, alow iwobi and Rodriguez play behind Calvin the main striker and coutinoh if he finally joins, can play the midfield role with the already established midfielders of the team, it will yield better for Everton than with richarlison in the mix, don’t get me wrong richarlison is probably Everton best player, but he seems to be running ahead of the team always looking for difficult options rather than make it more simpler, he is desperate for self glory as I have observed and it doesn’t bring understanding in attack, if he goes and iwobi takes that position for example, he will bring in that arsenal easy and effective touch to the attack but he also need to be trusted and given more time not always castigating when one match nor go well, thats my advice for Everton .
