‘Olusegun Obasanjo – Probably, The Fittest 85 Year-Old Former President In The World’ –Odegbami

Former Nigeria international, Chief Segun Odegbami, (aka Mathematical), has suggested that former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, could possibly be the fittest former President in the world, so strong that he played football at the age of 85, Completesports.com reports.

Odegbami was the Special Guest of Honour during a novelty football match in commemoration of the 85th birthday of Obasanjo which held at the 5-A-side football pitch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Abeokuta on Saturday, March 5th 2022, and now he admits to being ‘pleasantly shocked’ by the energy and stamina exhibited by the former president throughout the duration of the match.

Donning jersey number 85 and wearing the captain’s armband, Obasanjo led OOPL to defeat Ogun State Government’s team captnained by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele. According to Odegbami, the Octogenarian netted three out of the four goals netted in the match.

Odegbami takes up the story in his memoir about the memorable event.

“A friend who knows my relationship with Baba Olusegun Obasanjo observed, on social media, that I was not a part of the two teams that played a novelty football match in Abeokuta to mark his 85th birthday yesterday,” Mathematical wrote.

“Well, I was there.

“The challenge was that I was elevated to the position of Special Guest of Honour by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Prof. Peter Okebukola (yes, the same one).

“My responsibilities were to sit next to the Chairman of the event, and, at the end, to decorate the two teams with their well-earned medals.

“So, I sat next to the Chairman, 88 year-old former President of the Republic of Benin (1991 – 1996), Nicephore Dieudonne Soglo, a very close friend of Baba, who, as I discovered with relief later, could speak some decent English. So, we chatted through most of the 20 minutes of the match.

“My biggest relief was that Baba neither stumbled nor fell at any point during the match despite the high level of his involvement. He had such perfect balance on his feet.

“The pleasant shock was that he cantered around the field, passing and kicking the ball for the entire duration of the match. He was also deservedly responsible for scoring all the three goals against the Governor Dapo Abiodun-opposing team led by the Deputy Governor.

“For an 85 year-old, Baba Obasanjo is incredibly fit. He must be one of the fittest humans of his age on earth. He was an inspiration to watch.

“Early this morning, less than 24 hours after the football match, he spent an entire hour sweating and pounding his heart on the squash court!

“It is incredulous and simply amazing,” Odegbami concluded.

Midfield wizard Baba Mii Obasanjo with unbelievable telepathic passes while displaying some Avant Garde skillsets our SE midfielders can borrow a leaf from, in our attempt to conquer Ghana. Lolz. I greet you Papa OBJ.

Happy birthday to you baba but I don’t celebrate failure sir. You are part of the Nigeria problem. One of the greatest oppressors of this country.

What did you do in the past to make you deserve this accolade on CSN? No free education during your time, 24/7 hours electricity did not happen during your time, Nigerians did not enjoy good roads and insecurity also part of the Nigeria problem then and now. So, why Mr. Sęgun Odegbami and CSN are doing this?

We want to change the face of Nigeria. Our oppressors does not deserve to be celebrated.

Comes in 2023, Nigerians will do something unique. Nigerians will not vote for either APC and PDP. We need a young president to rule Nigeria. A president that ready to listen to we the citizens. A president that ready to change the face of Nigeria and Africa. A president that will provide job opportunities, good roads, 24/7 electricity and infrastructure. That is what we are praying for and that is what we are looking for comes in 2023.

We are in digital era and we have to do something meaningful for ourselves and unborn generation. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Those two people who gave this post tombsdown have demonstrated that they love and enjoy celeberating failure.

Obasanjo is one of the worst things ever to happen to NIGERIA, the man has no clue but he’s now running around blaming everyone but himself. This man is as clueless as Buhari, I don’t see a much difference between them two.

  • @Omo9ja and @Detruth I did not want to say it for they will label me a biggot. Indeed this man and his likes Abacha and Ibrahim Babangida and the worst of all Yakubu Gowon can all go to hell for all I care. With the former I presume already bathing in Lava and fire down there.
