The Olympic Eagles spent time in the gym on Friday morning for physical training as they step up preparation ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Completesports.com reports.
The U-23 AFCON 2019 will take place in Egypt between November 8th and November 22nd in Egypt.
Imama Amapakabo’s charges departed Nigeria on Thursday afternoon and arrived Cairo international Airport 9pm local time (8pm Nigerian time).
The Olympic Eagles are being quartered at Hotel Mercure, Ismaila, the same place the Super Eagles camped prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June.
The Olympic Eagles are in Group B and will contend with Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and South Africa in that order at the Al Salam Stadium.
Hosts Egypt head Group A that also has Ghana, Cameroon and Mali with matches to hold at the Cairo International Stadium.
Nigeria’s first match of the campaign is against Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday, 9 November.
The top three teams at the eight-nation tournament will qualify to represent Africa in the Men’s Football event of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
