Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi visited his Trabzonspor ‘ s teammates at their training base on Sunday as he continue his full recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, reports Completesports.com.
Onazi, 26, ruptured his achilles tendon in a Turkish Super Lig game against Rizespor in December 2018.
The midfielder was stretchered off in the 33rd minute of the encounter and was replaced by Juraj Kucka.
He was recently seen in a video undergoing a one leg exercise heading the ball with a Physiotherapist at the Isokinetic rehabilitation gym in Rome, Italy.
“Day by day it is getting better so we are going in the right direction,” Onazi told Completesports.com.
Trabzonspor posted a picture of Onazi exchanging pleasantries with some of his teammates at their training ground on their Twitter handle on Sunday.
The former Nigeria youth international now look set to join his teammates in training in the coming days.
The former Lazio of Italy midfielder made league 16 appearances for Trabzonspor and scored twice before his injury induced lay-off.
He remains confident that he will be fully fit to represent Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt.
The Super Eagles are one of the 24 teams that will compete for the title in Egypt.
