Onuachu Rated Average In Southampton’s 3-3 Draw At Arsenal

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu got an average rating in Southampton’s 3-3 draw at Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League game.

The rating was compiled by facts and statistics platform Squawka on Twitter.

Onuachu was introduced in the 77th minute for Theo Walcott but once again failed to open his goals account for the Saints.

It was his eight Premier League appearance since moving from Belgian club Genk.

Following his not too impressive performance, Onuachu was rated five out of 10.

Commenting on Onuachu’s display, Squawka wrote:”Failed to offer his side an outlet.“

Meanwhile the draw against Arsenal saw Southampton remain bottom with six games left to play.

For Arsenal, they are now five points ahead of Manchester City who have two games in hand.

Southampton took a shock lead inside the first minute as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale gave the ball to Carlos Alcaraz, who made no mistake with a precision finish to the far post.

Southampton doubled their lead just 13 minutes later as Walcott pounced against his former club.

Arsenal quickly halved the deficit shortly after through Gabriel Martinelli off a cutback from Bukayo Saka.

But despite a wave of pressure, Arsenal found themselves two goals behind again in the 66th minute as Duje Caleta-Car headed home at the far post after Armel Bella-Kotchap flicked on James Ward-Prowse’s corner.

It looked like game over, but an incredible late rally saw the Gunners draw level with goals in the 88th and 90th minutes from Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, respectively.

A relentless push from the hosts followed in second-half stoppage time that included Leandro Trossard rattling the crossbar and Reiss Nelson coming close to another late winner.
