Onuachu Wins Midtjylland Top Scorer Award For Third Consecutive Season

Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu has won FC Midtjylland’s top scorer award for the third consecutive season, Completesports.com reports.

Onuachu scored 17 goals and recorded five assists in 30 league appearances for the club. Overall, he netted 22 times in 40 appearances across all competitions.

“Paul Onuachu has – for the third consecutive season – won the award as Top Scorer of the Year in FC Midtjylland 💪,”reads a tweet FC Midtjylland’s official Twitter handle.

Last season, he scored 17 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions for the club.

During the 2016/2017 campaign, Onuachu hit the back of the net 23 times in 45 games across all competitions.

The 24-year-old joined Midtjylland in 2012, on a scholarship, from their affiliate team in Nigeria, Ebedei.

He was a prolific scorer for their youth team, and made his first-team debut in the Cup later that year, before making his league debut in December 2012.

In June 2013 he signed a new three-year contract with the club, before extending it for a further three-years in August 2015. In early 2015 he was loaned to Vejle BK, before returning to FC Midtjylland ahead of the 2015–16 season.

He is in Nigeria’s 25-man provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
