Onyeka Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Doubtful For Super Eagles World Cup Qualifiers

Frank Onyeka has been ruled out of Brentford’s Premier League tie at Aston Villa after testing positive for coronavirus, Completesports.com reports.

The newly promoted club made the announcement on their verified Twitter handle while unveiling their line-up for the game against Villa.

“Frank Onyeka misses out this afternoon after testing positive for Covid-19.”

Onyeka is now a huge doubt for the Super Eagles 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.

He is included in the 30-man squad unveiled by Gernot Rohr for the qualifiers.

He made his Premier League debut for Brentford in their 2-0 opening day against Arsenal.

Brentford have won one and drawn one of their first two league games.

This is what I said the last thing… People wey the worship oyinbo. They did not want national team players to leave EPL, La Liga, Serie A to honor their country’s world cup games because some African states are on red list… list drawn by same white people. Yet right in their backyards… Same Corona is still arresting players. Hypocrisy no go even allow white people respect other people wey no look like them… However, for Rohr to callup a defender Adekunle Adeleke for Onyeka, a guy who will not even end up playing… what is the sense in that? Why not call another midfielder… even Nwakali or Alhassan Yusuf?
How about young Leslie Ugochukwu in Rennes, Samson Tijani, or even Ejaria?

ROHR, CALL EBUEHI FROM STANDBY LIST AS ONYEKA REPLACEMENT.SHEHU CAN GO TO DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD.
      NO STRESS, NO HEADACHE.

      @JimmyBall, God bless you gentleman.

You see, they will soon tell you that you a racist person but it’s far from that.

NFF and Oga Rohr have nothing left to do for Nigeria.

If we make it to Qatar, we should thank God for his mercy.

They should know that something like this may happen because such a thing almost happened earlier this year.

Within Africa here, NFF and the gaffer would have built a temporary team should be in case if our foreign based players may not allowed for the two encounters.

Late coach Amodu had three solid teams for Nigeria and they were capable to face any team but our world class coach can not manage just a team without complaining.

We have so many replacements for this guy but it will take forever to decide who will replace him.

That is NFF/Oga Rohr for us. They know what to do but they won’t do it. Fingers crossed. It is well. God bless Nigeria!!!

Nice reply Mr. Nice don’t mind all those charlatans.

While your almighty foreign based players Oga Rohr Super Eagles team were down from 4-0 against Sierra Leone to 4-4?

Is that the issue of owing or tactics?

When you have an average leader in a place that have to be with honesty, integrity, knowledge and transparency, the average leadership of that leader must be questionable.

Example of that, President Buhari, Amaju and Oga Rohr.

I won’t allow you people to destroy Nigeria for us.

The rest of the world are fighting Corona virus while Nigeria is fighting corruption and insecurity.

It is well. I can only pray for this nation. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

“….Late coach Amodu had three solid teams for Nigeria ….”

        Which year was that please….LMAOOOo.

Kindly list the players in the two other “solid teams” he had for Nigeria. LMAOOooo

The ease with which some people spew out lies here makes me weep for the next generation of children that will be raised.

“…Late coach Amodu had three solid teams for Nigeria …” LMAOoooo.

In all honesty, I feel Onyeka should’ve been replaced with a player for the future. I don’t understand this invitation of home based to the National team and when they move Abroad, they stop getting an invite. Anayo’s case quickly comes to mind. After he transferred to Esperance, did he suddenly become not so good for the national team? Gernot Rohr said he won’t invite new players, inviting the guy who is not even one of the best players from the local league is this not double standards. Rohr has done a good job up until after the World Cup. If he is not paid and feels not well motivated..IT IS MORE HONORABLE TO RESIGN than join NFF in this agent business.
To Frank, get well Bro..You will come out of this victorious.

@Omo9ja, weldone at least you are so bold and still using the same username.

    • Omo9ja 3 years ago

Of course I will my dear brother. You know me too well kę. I will never open my two eyes koro koro like this for NFF to destroy our football. I am here because of Nigeria and I have bn doing this for so long kę.

I have said it long time ago that it is God and the efforts of 1% of us Nigerians that still making Nigeria functioning a bit if not, there wouldn’t be anything called Nigeria again.

Concerning “Omo9ja” name, hmmm. Thanks for bringing me back to this old memories coache. There’s a lot to that name “Omo9ja” and I am proud of it and as I promised Nigerians on Kickoffnigeria.com then, I said, you guys should meet me on CSN and I promised not to change my username which am still using till today. God I thank you oooo.

That “Omo9ja” is a threat to many people on this forum including NFF and it has been like that since the days of Kickoffnigeria.com.

In sha Allah, by God’s grace, as long as Nigeria remains Nigeria, “Omo9ja” is unshakeable.

Many thanks to you coache. Together we strong and divided we fall. Nigeria must be a better place for us all.

Super Eagles deserve better. NFF do something to make Super Eagles stronger and greater again. Make your employees happy and the fans of the Super Eagles. We are thirsty for trophies.

Lastly, I wish Onyeka a speedy recovery.

One love coache, one love Nigerians. God bless us all. Ire o. God bless Africa/Nigeria!!!

    Hahahaha, Omo9ja, OMO GIDI!
Your quarrel with NFF is fully supported. We are all unhappy with the NFF. Their CHRONIC DEBTOR mentality especially. If you say you are against the NFF, I personally am on your side on that one.
But when it comes to Rohr, your beef with him is unfair and unrighteous.
A man who is being owed 2 years salary has managed to meet every target he’s been given so far. The only thing left for him to accompish is to win Afcon, and we have a squad that can do this, thanks to his merit-driven selection.
He may not be the best, tactics wise. But let’s face it, BETTER SOUP, NA MONEY KILL AM. The coach we currently have IS THE BEST OUR MONEY CAN BUY. Na where our hand reach be dis. We have no choice but to manage what we have. The alternative is to replace him with an inferior coach, or worse, another African Guardiola.
If we want a coach that is better than Rohr, are we ready to spend the money?
