Oshoala On Target As Barcelona Ladies Thrash Minsk 5-0 In Champions League Clash

Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala scored once as Barcelona Ladies thrashed Belarusian outfit, FC Minsk
5-0 in their UEFA Women’s Champions League round of 16 encounter at the Johan Cryuff Stadium on Thursday night, reports Completesports.com.

Oshoala opened scoring for the home team in the sixth minute of the game.

It was Oshoala’s second Champions League goal for Barcelona following her strike in the final of the competition against Olympic Lyon last term.

The prolific striker has also scored 11 goals in 12 Liga Iberdola games since linking up with the club in January.

She was replaced on the hour mark by Jenni Hermoso.

Aitana Bonmati (brace), Marta Torre and Hermoso got the other goals for Barcelona.

I used to be number fan of oshoala but I have since retreated because she also reserves her best for club sides. Fans should rewatch the last female world cup to get be clear. ALSO watch our recent match with ivory Coast whr the visiting team knocked Nigeria out of the Olympic games.

Gowetok I would expect you to name one player better than Asisat Oshoala at the moment. What would you suggest if she was your sister or daughter: to give her all to a team governed with politics inside-out, coach issues, selection issues, etc.

If you must know she single-handedly (on the field of play) wanted to take that team to the next Olympics but …you know the rest of the story!

For me, our female national team needs to lose a match by a wide goal margin to a lower FIFA ranked African team before any real meaningful revolution will be inevitable.

As it is today, we are living in fools paradise in female football, the only team working (we hope) is the Super Eagles…others (sports inclusive) are “signposts.”
