Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored two goals and set up an assist, to help Napoli defeat Juventus 5-1 in Serie A on Friday night inside the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, Completesports.com reports.
Prior to Friday’s game Juventus had not conceded a single goal in Serie A for eight games.
Osimhen’s opener was his first Serie A goal against Juventus at his fourth appearance against them, ending Bianconeri’s fifth longest streak without conceding in the competition (770 minutes).
Osimhen has now taken his goals in the Italian topflight to 12 in 14 appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s men.
He has found the back of the net four times in his last five league games.
The win against Juventus means Napoli, on 47 points, temporarily go 10 points clear of champions AC Milan.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 14th minute, heading into the back of the net from close range off a rebound.
He then turned provider as he laid the ball for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to make it 2-0 on 39 minutes.

@Monkey post! You didn’t think Osimhen would score tonight!? Normally you first to comment?
LOL… HONESTLY am SURPRISED BUT VERY HAPPY BRO…
Hahahaha…NICE ONE.EHEN! Now WE TALKING.. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM you see. OSIMHEN must have READ my COMMENTS…
Hahahaha….
Woooooo!
I’m sure he did hahaha!
Maturity is not by age but by how one reacts in certain situations. Some people are fund of overly criticizing this young man osimhen especially when he scores against certain clubs and fails to score against certain big clubs. When he scored against sampdoria and I said he deserves encouragement and not criticism, some Immature individual who mostly comes here to seek attention responded in the negative but I ignored such comments because it’s not everyone who really knows what football is or who knows how to identify talent and appreciate them. But all the same Victor osimhen has really shaken serie A with his performance last night. I expect clubs like real Madrid will be considering him for next season. They are 10 points clear at the top but there can’t relent in their performances. They need to keep the tempo going. They should keep racking up the points and scoring goals aplenty. And osimhen should realize that he is in the form of his career now and should do everything he can to score as many goals this term to cement his name in Napoli history books.
Osimhen is a very unpredictable striker whose potential is not even fully tapped yet……His run in behind is a joy to watch but Napoli plays a possessive based style of football in which they bid their time on the ball to carve out scoring chances……. Osimhen has to wait for his chances patiently and he has done just that to devastating effect….. Thank God the score against big team criticism has been laid to rest by this two goals against almighty Juventus…… Osimhen is going to win the MVP and hopefully he should reward Napoli with the scuddeto this year after a long long wait.
I believe this boy is still far away from being a great striker. He should stay with napoli for another season to really mature before making that move. He can be very erratic sometimes. Defenders in the premiership will not allow him that much time on the ball and he must learn to release the ball if his team mate is in a better position to score. He has the potential to be a great striker in future
He isn’t a selfish player and not one to turn a blind eye to a free teammate.Im not sure if he was a Ghanaian you will put down same comment.
Osimhen is the best striker in Italy and had good shifts in most games he was involved against premiership teams.
You are full of envy @Yaw. Cant you hide it a little? Must you comment? We have what you don’t have Osimhen deal with it.
Such a funny comment, someone who is the most prolific striker in Seria A isn’t mature? and Napoli and their current form is a small club to you?
Osimhen has come of age and he is already world class and a great striker. All he needs now is to make a big move as a world class player that he has become.
We are certainly seeing the boy become a man and today’s performance went a long way toward justifying that. Very beastly performances from Victor and Khava today
The destruction of The Old Lady at the Maradona. 5 goals to one. Incredible result for Spalletti and Napoli.
Before this game with Napoli, Juventus had conceded only 7 goals from 17 games, and that was by far the best defensive record in Italy. Yes, Juventus has the strongest defense in the Serie A. However, after just one game against Osimhen and company, 5 goals have been generously added to the 7 that Juventus previously conceded, and they now have 12 goals against them in 18 games.
Allegri will be having nightmares of Osimhen tonight. Kvara on the left, Politano on the right, and the 3 man Napoli midfield provided the platform for Osimhen to torment Juventus. The ease with which Osimhen got behind the Juve defense on multiple occasions is the stuff of nightmares for defenders and coaches. All Allegri could do was just watch with apprehension every time Osimhen ghosted past his marker. He was just too fast for the Juventus defenders. He could easily have had a hattrick or more if he was more clinical with his finishing.
Thumbs up Pompeiman. Juventus will have nightmares.
Heaven bless Osimhen and all deserving Super Eagles players.
Where was that defender who was bragging that he knows how to stop osimhen. I’m guessing he was one of the players on the receiving end of some of osimhens pulverizing moves, the guy was a locomotive last night. He ran over the the juventus defense all night. It was one of his best performances in the serie A. I hope they will give him the player of the month of January like he rightly deserves. All Napoli needs to do is pray that he and Mr number 77 stay injury free and fit. Call them the dangerous duo.
