Osimhen Fires Blanks Again For Napoli In 2-2 Draw At Genoa

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen failed to get on the score sheet for Napoli who came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Genoa in the Serie A on Saturday.

Osimhen has now failed to score in back-to-back league games for Napoli.

For Napoli they are winless in their last two league games (one draw and loss).

The Serie A champions are fifth on seven points and are five points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Genoa took the lead on 40 minutes as an Albert Gundmundsson corner was flicked on by Koni De Winter for Mattia Bani to practically crouch down for the free header at the back post.

In the 57th minute Genoa went 2-0 up through Mateo Retegui.

A corner was taken short, Napoli goalkeeper tried to punch it away and collided with teammate Leo Ostigard, then Kevin Strootman set up Retegui to fire in from 12 yards.

Napoli got back into the game in 76 minutes when Giacomo Raspadori hit a thunderbolt with his left foot into the near top corner.

With six minutes left, Napoli completed the comeback as Piotr Zielinski floated a ball over the top and substitute Matteo Politano watched it come down before smashing a spectacular left-foot volley into the top corner.

  • If Napoli want to win anything this season, they better do away with this Garcia of a coach asap, I’m never a fan of his coaching style, reason Al Nassr get rid of him, VO shd have move immediately he realize spalletti won’t continue with the club, imagine watching Napoli whole 45minutes of first half and osimhen was just running and didn’t even touch the ball for once, what kinda style prevent you from given your most dangerous weapon the ball to score. 5point deficit already at this early stage of the season. Shaiii

  • The problem is Seria A criminally gave Kvara MVP so the team and Kvara a delusional to thinking Kvara is the star of the team always looking for Kvara Kvara himself is selfish can you imagine Osimhen only had 2 shot on goal yesterday. I sense some jealousy towards osimhen in that team

    • Probably the two short  came at the second half because I stop watching after the shit they playing at first half and switch to Barca vs Betis, see the Korean guy move immediately to Bayern, let’s just hope things change sha, bcos at this rate VO is really suffering from that shit style the coach is using.

The Saudi Arabian league rejected Coach turned Napoli to mid table team immediately. What a sudden change of destiny. No fluidity, no team work. They struggle to get their passes correctly. I pity this Napoli team if they don’t sack the Wack Garcia cuz by the time they meet the likes of Inter, AC Milan and Juventus, they will be massacred. Not to talk of the Champions league matches with Almighty Madrid.

Osimhen also need to improve his game play outside the box 18 & work on his passing. He should train more on taking long range shot and also work on his left leg cuz i notice he always hesitate to shoot with his left and that’s costing him some balls he ought to have score. If he can get these 3 right then he will be unstoppable.

However if nothing changes in the team, Osimhen should just try to score a considerable amount of goals like 30 then if a suitable offer comes from the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid or Manchester United, he should grab it with both hands and run for his dear life b4 the Italian racist start dragging him even if they notice the whole team has her own issue with their Yeye new Coach

Omo leave Osigoal out of your valid submission, blame the president of Napoli I have cried out weeks before league resumed that this man refused to honor certain people after Napoli’s title winning season. Their coach, Kvara, Osigoal and a few players were not given improved deal and Kim was sold after which he went on vacation with a promise to give Osigoal improved deal but to no avail. So what do people expected from the low morale team that knows that they’re playing for nothing but a greedy president who will not sell you neither will he reward you with a decent contract after winning.

Huh even 21 year old Veiga shunned them for Saudi and you wonder how it happened and their Sabbatical coach is now Italian Coach because he was pissed of the greed. Osimhen should leave if he gets a decent offer elsewhere and stop seeing that greedy CEO as his Father. CEO going on vacation and forgetting to boost morale of a title winning squad with his cunny method and delay tactics…. Napoli will not make top 4 with such attitude and he will not make that profit that he is actually chasing on the long run…..

Let’s be objective, Osimhen from the last two games i saw is beginning to feel relaxed. His hustling spirit to create chances out of no where is no longer there and this is what a Messi and Ronaldo never lack as they grow they become even hungrier. Yes his team is playing below par but he Osimhen has no excuse with his play this season, i mean imagine Raspadori scoring from a place where he had no chance at all even politano these were substitute player but Osimhen played for a whole 90 minutes with possibly only one goal on target if any. He needs to improve for his club. You cannot be playing like “Now I have arrived” when you have just started. I pray he realizes this and improve. The coach saw this attitude in him at the beginning of the season and was critical about it. I believe if people around him will tell him the truth he has really gone a little down with His performance for club.

In my analysis I see it in a different way, I see their two previous match in a technical way, Napoli being champions, the opponent study their game and dealt with them by rending their wingers useless and their mid field useless and there was very very few passes given to Osimehen, this is like what happed to Nigeria against Tunisia in the last AFCON where Tunisia dealt with us by rending our wingers useless and our mid field useless.

Their coach realize this in yesterday’s match and brought in a dynamic midfielder (No 24 Jens Cajuste) later in the second half, but it was too late he should have done this since the first half. Osimehen should also watch is back as against what happened in the opponent first goal and Napoli coach needs to wake up and change their formation on time.

To add insult to the injury, Laurentis will not allow him to go for AFCON next year, watch out and pray he releases VO
