Osimhen: Ighalo Free To Make Super Eagles Return

Victor Osimhen says he will gladly welcome Odion Ighalo back to the national team amid reports that the latter is considering a return to International football.

Ighalo retired from the Super Eagles after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

He was top scorer at the competition with five goals, with the West Africans finishing in third position.

The Manchester United recently stated that he is considering a return to the Super Eagles and Osimhen has no qualms with his planned comeback.

“He is always welcome, he contributed a lot for the National team and even at the Afcon in 2019, whether I am playing or I’m on the bench, watching him from the side will also help me learn a lot from him. I have no problem with it at all,” Osimhen told ojbsport.com.

“Ighalo is a very good forward and inspirational player, not just for Nigeria but also for the footballing world. I draw some inspiration from him”.

Ighalo, welcome back, then, since no one will lose out!

I hope Rohr wont make the mistake of putting Osimhen on the bench for Ighalo like he did in the last AFCON. Its criminal that a striker of Osimhen quality barely saw any game time. Rohr is a poor judge of talents.

@KayLord, you are the Poor Judge here. Infact your own Judge has Kwashiorkor..lol. Rohr has not even said anything concerning the statement made by Ighalo this week regarding Returning to the National team neither has he come out to say Oshimen will be placed on the bench or have you seen his Match day line up for the next two and a half years??? So why jumping to conclusion that “Rohr is a poor judge of talents”?? Highly nonsensical!

Even at the AFCON, Rohr started Ighalo ahead of Oshimen, did Ighalo fail to prove why he started upfront?? Was he not the Golden boot winner at the end of the day ahead of Stars like Mané, Mahrez, Salah?? Even the Bible stated “There’s time for everything under the sun”, There’s a time to learn, grow and a time to show what you’ve learnt. Oshimen has come out to say many times that he learnt so many valuable things from Ighalo at AFCON and we are reaping the outcome of that now in Oshimen. So why judging Rohr as a poor judge of talents when you don’t have facts to back your statement up? Na wa ooo

Mr kaylord please be realistic. During the afcon was Ighalo not the highest goal scorer during qualifiers and the tournament proper ? Were you expecting him to be dropped for Osimhen?
Please think before posting. You cant compare Osimhen of early last year to this current one. He has obviously improved and matured. Playing Ighalo ahead of him was the right thing to do. But for Now he should obviously play ahead of Ighalo.

1.Like i always say if Ighalo hits form and his wanting to comeback let’s have him back.

    2. If Ighalo is more lethal in training let him start.

    3. If tactics says Ighalo will give a better result let him start.

    4. Let the best start in all scenario

Only fools open their mouth before they think. Osimhen, Ighalo, Simon. are all qualified to play for Nigeria. Let the coach do his job. Why are some guys having a sleepless nights over Ighalo’s
return to the team he voluntarily withdrawn from ?. Come on. Ighalo is one of the top World best strikers at the moment. The Club which he is playing for says that. His huge pay says that. Even Osimhen says that. l am sure that the coach will be glad to welcome Ighalo back to the fold. Give Rohr the opportunity to deploy the best legs to go forward into the bright future we all want for Nigeria football.
