‘Osimhen Key To Super Eagles’ Progress At AFCON 2021′ – Ighalo

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo believes the team needs the fighting spirit of Victor Osimhen in the fast approaching 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ighalo, who recently made a return to the senior national team against Cape Verde in the final Group C game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, told ESPN in an interview that Osimhen’s presence in the Super Eagles will be key to the team’s progress.

Recall that the Nigerian international went under the knives after he suffered facial fractures after the accidental clash of heads with Inter defender Milan Skriniar in a Serie A game.

Though Osimhen has been ruled out for 90 days and would missed the Africa Cup of Nations in January, however, Ighalo said he’s optimistic the Napoli striker will make a shocking return to the team.

“I spoke to him after his surgery to wish him well, and to tell him that this is one of those things that happen. I am praying by God’s grace for him to recover. We need Osimhen at the Nations Cup.

“He is young, he is a fighter and he will come back stronger than before and make it to the AFCON. We will see him there doing well as he has been doing because this is his time and he needs to shine.”

Thank you for your support Ighalo. I know you are a good person and may God be with you.

However, I wish you a quick recovery Osimhen.

Now that we don’t even know what is going on with the coaching crew, what can can I say now. NFF are making things deficult for Super Eagles fans.

I don’t think Osimhen can fully recover from that injury before the Afcon in Cameroon but who will be the front man when Oga has refused to tryout the likes of Dessers, Awoniyi, Dennis, Sodiq and other strikers?

I hope Osimhen can manage to go to that tournament. If yes then, it will be good if he can play few minutes in that tournament.

As it is now, Dessers and Dennis are the main strikers to lead the Nigerian team. Then, follow by Awoniyi and Sodiq.

Who will be the next coach? NFF Nigerians are waiting for you.

We can see now that Oga Rohr is just fooling us by calling Ighalo back into the Super Eagles but he can’t deceive Nigerians no more.

Wether NFF like it or not, we are done with Oga Rohr that is for sure because we can not continue with Ighalo and when we have other fantastic available to represent Nigeria.

I love you Ighalo and I will advice you again, stay away from Super Eagles. I hope Edoman will warn you this time around. God bless Nigeria!!!

If it was up to me, I will have Osimhen take the next 3 months off, at a minimum. No football for Napoli or Nigeria. Just rest and allow the body to heal itself.
I want that face injury COMPLETELY HEALED. Playing when it is not completely healed is risky and foolish. Yes, missing Afcon will be painful, but the priority must be health.
If he must play, then he should wear a protective head gear. But my preference is 3 months rest. That should heal him, by God’s grace.
