Osimhen Makes Serie A Team Of The Year

Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been included in the 2023 Serie A Team of the Year.

Football facts and statistics website, whoscored.com published the Team of the Year on its X handle on Tuesday.

Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia are the only Napoli players included.

Among other top Serie A stars who made the list are Paulo Dybala, Federico Dimarco, Lautaro Martinez, Danilo and Hakan Calhanoglu.

It was a memorable year for Osimhen as he helped Napoli clinch the Scuddetto for the first time since 1990.

The Nigerian striker bagged 26 goals in the Italian topflight to emerge top scorer.

It is the first time ever an African player will win the Golden Boot award in Italy.

Also, Osimhen was crowned 2023 CAF Player of the Year, becoming the first Super Eagles player since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999 to land the award.

He is expected to lead the Eagles attack at this year’s AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
