Osimhen Missing As Elmas’ Goal Earns Napoli Precious Victory Over AC Milan

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was conspicuously missing in Napoli’s 1-0 win over AC Milan in Sunday’s Serie A game.

The Nigerian international, who is still going through rehabilitation after undergoing a surgery that corrected multiple fractures that he suffered on November 21, during Napoli’s Serie A clash with Inter Milan, had hoped to make a comeback with the aid of a protective mask.

Midfielder Eljif Elmas glanced a header home at the near post from a corner to stun the hosts and edge the visitors in front in the fifth minute.

Napoli held onto that lead without being overly troubled until the latter stages of the contest between the contenders.

In the 90th minute, just as Milan looked out of ideas, Franck Kessie appeared to have snatched the hosts a point out of nowhere, sparking wild scenes of celebration, only for VAR to rule it out for offside.

Milan were furious with the tight call made by the officials, as Napoli held on for a first win in four league games to move on to 39 points.

It is too early to expect Osimhen to come out to play any real game for the club.

Hope he won’t be missing for the Afcon though.. He is my sure NO.9. I can place a bet on him with my eyes closed

  • The most important thing for Osimhen is to recover fully.

There is no need to force him to come for afcon. He will surely play for Nigeria at World cup.

Let him recover fully first. Nigeria is blessed with other strikers that can stand for him at afcon.

    I wish him quick recovery.

    God bless Nigeria.

Hopefully he gets better to play for his club and possibly in Cameroon.
@Godstate, we have only 6 paragraphs our there and in none was Afcon mentioned. Where did you get “There is no need to force him to come for afcon”. Enquote. Don’t you think frustration has an imprint in there?
I don’t want to preempt the Super Eagles gaffer, Eguavoen, but Oshimen could emerge a surprise appearance in Afcon. He was in the last AFCON and that makes him fit in the most.
Not just Nigeria, many countries are on the look out for the gangling African with those towering goals he scores through heading. He will add colors which is one of the aims of the summit.
Whoever makes it to Afcon enjoys our support, high time some of you on the platform stop being stupid.

We can then say in the Super Eagles, the fear of Osimhen is the beginning of wisdom.
