Osimhen One Of My Toughest Opponents — Juventus Legend Chiellini

Osimhen One Of My Toughest Opponents — Juventus Legend Chiellini

Former Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has named Victor Osimhen as one of the toughest opponents he came up against during his active days.

Chiellini recently announced his retirement from the round leather game.

The 39-year-old enjoyed an illustrious career that saw him featured for top clubs in Serie A including Juventus, Fiorentina and Livorno.

The former centre-back featured in over 700 games in the Italian top-flight.

Chiellini came up against several top strikers during his career, and acknowledged Osimhen as one of his most difficult opponents.

“Which attacker bothered me more? Honestly, I marked Lautaro well, Osimhen a little worse. I was struggling more,”he was quoted by Tutto Napoli.

“I was at the end of my career with both of them; after the knee operation, I suffered from it and I couldn’t hold it any longer.”

Chiellini however offered tips on how to stop Osimhen.

“How do you stop Osimhen? You let him take the ball towards you, which isn’t dangerous,” he stated.

“Even if he turns, he doesn’t bother me and when he gets to the area I’m on top of him and don’t let him breathe. It’s difficult for the ball to enter the net on its own; they always score the goals; Osimhen scores them, not Zielinski in the third half. If Politano then scores from 30 meters I’ll tell him well done, but it doesn’t happen very often.”

  • Wow Ahmed Musa made the final 27 players to AFCON? But was midfielders problem with peseiro? Why always short of midfielders in his list? Like this man didn’t know you win or loose game from the midfield? Anyway the list has all expected players and good luck to them.

  • Where is Akpom, where is Tellan, why Musa, why Umar? Pls I need someone to comment on this

I think at the moment sadiq deserve a spot, and i also believe musa is still better than aribo in the team, players like musa, iwobi, and lookman can take the attacking midfield role, aribo have no business in the team and tunarigha is not needed at the moment, may be in the future, but for now i will replace him with balogun who is more experienced and rugged, i still consider balogun as our minister of deffense,
I will replace aribo for kelechi nwakali who will actualy add more value to our midfield considering his long passes ability and free kick and cornęr master class. Lastly i will pick orban to replace injured moffi, its discouraging and direspectfull to keep such young talent out of the team at a point when he is in a best form of his carrea. I really regret peakmilk era as nff president, he caused alot arm to our football. I dont know how he comes up with this junky coach. Rohr is far better than pesero.

    • Are u referring to the same Aribo that have been playing for his club back to back at the moment and even play the full match this weekend? Yes balogun shd have been recall to the team same as ekong.

All l am saying, give us Gift Orban. He is better than Aribo. Why playing Dennis again. He is not a discipline player. Uzoho is a basket keeper. Recall Orban immediately or Nigeria get knocked out at group stage.
