Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Black Stars of Ghana and Eagles of Mali.
Osimhen an unused substitute in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against Serie A leaders Inter Milan on Sunday.
The striker barely trained in the days before the game.
Caretaker manager, Francesco Calzona said after the game that it was due to an inflammation of the scar from an old injury.

Which coach is leading the Eagles to these friendlies? Nigerian soccer administrators will never change. What a shame!
I thought as much but going through NFF constitution, it says the technical department takes charge in situation like this. So, Asst. Coach Finidi will assist Technical Adviser, Coach Eguavoen.
Ugo Does not know Ball Ugo does not know ball… Best Decision we need to rest this guy to have him in Top Shape for Napoli and Come June Qualifiers as well. BIG VIC We love you
OSIMHEN SHOULD BE REPLACE WITH ANOTHER PLAYERS. WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH.
GIFT ORBAN, OKEREKE, AKPOM ARE AVAILABLE, WAITING FOR CALL-UP.
I think Akor Adams or Gift Orban we need quality there but knowing Mumu Coaches in Nigeria do not be suprised when you see Orban Overlooked and you see sluggish Paul Onuachu there
No, @Ugo, we need Josh Maja or Tolu Arokodare. If not, then Tijani Muhammed of Slavia Prague or Mathias Oyewusi.
The Day god allows our best players to be on the fieldof play at the right time that is the day the we will subconciously know that NFF are doing things Right. I mean if it is not Osimhen it is Ndidi if not Ndidi it is Boniface and so on. Nawa oo..
Who needs Ndidi when we have Kelechi Nwakali.
Lol Mr Madu What kind of talk is that lol… Ndidi anyday over Nwakali at least for Now. Ndidi has at some point was regarded best CDM in the World don’t ever forget that. Now he has even been playing attacking Mid for Leicester City this Seaosn.. he is a box to box Double Engine. Nwakali for Now needs to even prove that he was not a Fluke in Under 17 I will not Doubt his potentials because he was MVP in the same Tournament as Osimhen 8 years ago.. so he always had big Potential pity
y his Ego was bigger than it should have been at the time.
WHERE IS THE $4 MILLION AFCON MONEY!!!!
Too bad Victor Osigoal won’t play.
I’ve read people constantly mentioning Nwakali as a creative option for Eagles. The only person who may give Nwakali that space to showcase his creativity and vision is Emmanuel Amunike.
By the way, reports suggest that Finidi George will lead Eagles for the friendlies. Finidi is a good coach too. Just like Amunike, he also played football to the highest level – world best winger at some point. Having spent years in Spain, he knows proper football tactics, no be all these ‘gather and play coaches’. Him and Amunike will be perfect combo
Why didn’t they call Mathias Oyewusi? He is far away the best option.
Make we kuku leave matter for Mathias.
Lool…
