‘Osimhen Reminds Me Of The Younger Cavani’ – Former Serie A Star

Former Empoli and Palermo player Gianluca Aztori has stated that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen reminds him of the younger Edinson Cavani, who also spent time for the Naples club.

Osimhen has established himself as one of the most dangerous strikers in Italy having netted five goals in seven matches in Serie A this season – scoring 14 goals for Napoli since arriving in 2020.

The 22-year-old was the hero for Luciano Spalletti’s side after scoring a late winner in the 1-0 win at Torino, to make it eight straight wins.

And Aztori believes the Nigerian will reach the level that Cavani has in his career.

Speaking to Tuttonapoli.net, Aztori said: “He started very strongly, and when a striker starts in confidence, usually, he enjoys this throughout the year.

“He is physical, and he helps the team a lot and reminds me of the younger Cavani. I wish him to continue like this and make the same career as the Matador.”

Cavani scored 33 goals each in his first two seasons with Napoli, going on to score 38 in his third season in all competitions, where he also finished as Serie A top scorer with 29 league goals.

At aged 34, Cavani still boasts an impressive goalscoring record in recent years, scoring 10 goals in 29 games for Manchester United.

  • Let the hype flow in for Osimhen…..Let the pressure pile up on Osimhen……That is what he needs…… Osimhen is a very high tempo player with a temperamental character…… Osimhen like to always play at a higher pressure and higher stake……He derives joy from it and it brings out the best in him……There is a beast living inside osimhen that possess him when he is on the pitch…… Sometimes his team mates even beg him to cool down……He has always Excelled when there is pressure on him……I remember in the U17 tournament when FIFA was hyping him to break the record people where saying he will draw cold but osimhen responded by smashing the record and scoring a trade mark belter against Mali in the final……. Against Chelsea in the champions league when everyone was talking about him and the speculation and pressure was on him,I told my colleagues that This guy will score in this game and they said he will go cold in that match……He scored a trade mark suspension header against Chelsea……. The beast in Osimhen needs pressure and high stakes to come out…… Osimhen just needs to be unleashed not coached…….He needs to feel the pressure and expectations……He needs to feel that all eyes are on him……he needs to be loved……he needs to be made to feel special……then you will awaken the beast in him……. Every player has his unique psychology and this is Osimhen’s psychology.

  • Eyaa, still agitating.

  • Kekes 3 years ago

Victor Osimhen is now being compared to the World best striker. Has long passed the hour of scoring. Memory lost maybe.

  • Francis Eluba 3 years ago

Only a red eye agitator would write that volume. Good luck Osimhen, God bless Nigeria.

  • Francis Eluba 3 years ago

Let’s open fan clubs in his honor, God bless Nigeria.

Exactly @Francis, time to open fan clubs for osimen. Lego!

  • When is Roma playing Victor Osimhen?

  • Gowetok 3 years ago

But why all the hype and focus on him cos in the scorers charts in series A there are players ahead of him . Immobile has 7 goals , Eden Zeko has 6 . Osihmen is 4th with 5goals..So why is everyone singing is name as if he is topping the scorers chrata

    • Greenturf 3 years ago

Probably his all round play coupled with goals in other competition

    • Sunny 3 years ago

The reason is that all his goals are from open play. No penalty goals to pad his goal return. On the other hand, the others on the chart are designated penalty takers for their clubs, hence the higher number of goals. if you remove penalty goals, Osimhen leads the chart.

    • Because Osimhen is a Nigerian and CSN being a Nigerian sport outlet has to keep Nigerians updated. Immobile, Zeko and co would have online sport outlets in their countries reporting as well.

  • @Dayo, on Sunday, 4pm..

It’s even better when the text come in few letters. He broke Torino heart, both local and international pundits naturally responded to Osimhen.
