Victor Osimhen was on the score sheet for Napoli again as they edged AS Roma 2-1 in Sunday’s Serie A clash at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, Completesports.com reports.
The Super Eagles striker now has 14 goals in Serie A this season for the league leaders.
The goal against Roma is Osimhen’s fifth goal in his last five games in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Napoli, on 53 points, are now 13 points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan in the league table.
Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 17th minute after receiving a cross from the left with his chest, controlled with his thigh before volleying into the roof of the net.
Substitute for Roma Stephan El Shaarawy equalised with 15 minutes left as he slotted in a dangerous cross.
But Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, scored the winner on 86 minutes, collecting a pass inside the box before slotting into the top corner.

Classy goal; I see why some European pundits are rating him higher than Halaan
African footballer of the year best player loadimg
very Good game i watch the match that Osimhen goal was classic and not all strikers can score that type of goal
i saw Abraham Tammy discussing with Osimhen in half time i am sure he regret not playing for Nigeria he could have been a very good combination with Osimhen in playing for super eagles
World class goal and goal of the season contender in my opinion…..I don’t see the hype and expectations sorrounding Osimhen and Lookman going away any time soon because they just keep blowing away people’s minds with the unthinkable every week…….The technique for Osimhen’s goal is a very difficult technique considering he was in a crowded box18 with 3 defenders breathing down his neck……He controlled the ball with his chest and layed it with his knee before unleashing that unstoppable shot into the roof of the net…,.Pure class and he is worth every hype coming his way……Now Napoli fans can start dreaming of a scuddeto.
Italian Serie A —- Osimhen is the leading scorer while Lookman is second
French Ligue 1 ——– Moffi is joint second top scorer.
Belgian Jupiler —— Onuachu is the leading scorer.
English Championship —– Chuba akpom is the leading scorer.
We just need a good midfield and backups in defence and a good goalkeeper and the team will be good to go.
Caf is foul though for not even considering staging the Afcon in June but moved all the way to 2024. Backward organization. Our players are in the form of their lives.
I forgot to add Folarin Balogun is 3rd in French ligue 1 too
Osimhen goal today reminds me of late Rashidi Yekini. A reminiscent of his style of goal. Control the ball with his chest, the lands his lap to get the required leverage, shoot with his leg and boom it is a goal.
Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia duo works wonders. But I know it wont translate to the national team, there is no Kvaratskhelia type player. He stays assisting and always been consistent. Mertens, Ruiz and Insigne left them team and now the the teams is doing better. Earlier in the season people here were still saying the team is selfish and sabotaging Osimhen. Osimhen now tied his career high of 14 goals, he been should of past that. He needs to be a 20+ goal player and this is the season to do it. Get the league title and champions league.
Kvaratskhelia also leads the team with 10 assist as well. Anguissa putting in that work too. The national team is already stacked with forwards. What is needed is the midfield and defenders.
But Osimhen needs to stay out the premier league so it wont hinder his success and destroy his career. If he goes to the premier league, its for face. Having him on the bench, playing out of position and still play Rashford on man utd. Africans tend to do better outside of the premier league. Koulibally cant even make it in the premier league
Now I can confidently say he is due for a move to Real Madrid
Hala Madrid!!!
Surrounded by Roma defenders, 3 quick touches, and BANG. The ball is in the roof of the net.
Osimhen and Lookman tearing up the Serie A with goals.
Some people said Nigeria’s best players are abroad. Osimhen was discovered in Lagos….Untill we stop begging diaspora Nigerians to play for the SUPER EAGLES and concentrate on talent discovery at home then our football will keep nose diving.
Nevertheless, this is just a season in our football because there was a time in Nigerian football from U17 was full of younger brothers of the 94 set and their cronies but our football did not develop. We grew above that and we will soon be delivered from begging players from yonder.
@coache I like you pass this thing you talk oooo. Foreign born players are equally better in technique if not skill wise. Balogun and Ademola Bookman are also doing fine. If we need to beg them let us do that . how many Nigeria player are better than Alaba, Saka, Musiala, Akanji that plays in Manchester City,. east or west home is home
God bless you @ respect is reciprocal
Pls name the local league osimhe played for before moving abroad, were are all the local players that the coach used against mexico, can you tell where they are now.
I read here someone says this current coach is better than rohr, hmmm. A coach that have not won his last five match better than a coach that never loss straight two games
Someone is still mentioning Ndah, OK. Were are those that were shouting nwakali name, those that claimed he is better than Mikel and all our midfielders. What of ejuke that many want to crucify rohr for, umar, olayienka
What happened to our internet coaches, nigeria has not won her las five matches, even mexico we use console ourselves we cannot face and somebody here is telling us he love the coach confidence. Ok, we they watch, i pray we should not miss the next world cup because no difference between this coach and eguavoen. Poor game technique, unable to read the game, outdated formation and many others
