Osimhen Tipped To Be Among Serie A Top Players

Nigeria and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has been tipped to be among the best five players in the Serie A in the coming season.

Osimhen scored Napoli’s only goal in the 1-0 win over Serie C side Pro Vercelli at the weekend to bring his pre-season’s goals tally to five in two games.

And the Super Eagles goalscoring sensation’s heroics did not go unnoticed by top Italian journalist Peppe Iannicelli who showered the Nigerian with praises in Canale 21 for his performances so far.

“I see him in excellent condition, and he is strongly convinced and very much in Italian professionalism.

“First year, after the seasons in France, he is totally integrated and in my opinion he will be among the best five players in the league.

“In France there is another culture, Osimhen needed to get into the times, the pressures, the ways of life and eating habits of Italians. Now he is truly at the top “.

Osimhen scored 10 goals and bagged three assists in 24 Serie A games in his debut season and despite missing 14 games due to shoulder and head injuries.

The Nigerian featured in only six games and scored twice in the first half of the season before a shoulder injury he copped on international duty in Nigeria and a positive covid-19 test ensured he missed 11 games on the bounce.

The 22 year old however returned in the second half of the season and scored eight times in the club’s final 14 games of the season.

As in, it’s getting too much. Kiss kiss FM of Napoli radio are just asking Legends and all about the Guy. Let them leave the guy and see what he’ll do

  • Just read in owngoalnigeria that calvin bassey wants to play for Nigeria and coach Rohr has him in his plans for 2022 world cup.
I hope this is the case, with CB in the team, the super eagles full back issues will be a thing of the past. Aina, ebuehi, will play right full back even though they are more than capable of playing as a left full back. We will have two capable left footed players available to play as Left full back in Calvin and Zaidu.
With that out of the way, we will now focus on central defence where we need more options. Right now we have just Ekong and Akpoguma who are playing at top level. Balogun is also there but he is not as young or fast as the above named players. Im not also comfortable with Awaziem playing in central defence, he plays better on the right side of the defense. So we need at least two extra quality central defenders to compete for places. With a strong defense, good midfield and great attack the team will be set.

I am with you regarding Calvin Bassey. With him and Sanusi, our left back needs are covered.

everything about oshimen hinges on the return of insigne. The guy is so selfish he rarely thinks of his striker. Another person there is politano another player with a selfish tendencies. I just hope n pray dat spalletti would be able to utilize our brother well without affecting insigne n his gangs.

Exactly what i always said. They’re more than 2 in their line-up who are very selfish. Insigne, Politano/Lozano and Zielinski. These guys are very selfish and any striker will struggle playing alongside. However that might not be the case if Osimhen is Italian because if Ronaldo suffers at Juventus, then who is Osimhen ? All those cross he get from Marcello and Carvajal in Madrid, are missing. So the question is, are the wingbacks or full backs so poor that they can’t cross the ball in the box bearing in mind that Ronaldo is fantastic on air and aurgably the most dangerous player in aerial balls ? So serie A players don’t really help the strikers enough and reason why it’s hard for the strikers. Not that there defenders are that exceptional but their pattern of isn’t always favorable to strikers. Because all the wingers and midfielders want to shoot at any given opportunity whether well positioned or not
