Serie A: Osimhen’s Late Winner Earns Napoli Away Win Vs Roma

A late brilliant goal from Victor Osimhen gave Napoli a 1-0 win at AS Roma in Sunday’s Serie A game and maintain their leadership at the top of the log.

Napoli have now won 11 matches in a row in all competitions for the second time in their history since 1929/30.

With 10 minutes left to play, Osimhen ran on to a long pass, outmuscled Chris Smalling before smashing the ball from a tight angle past the Roma keeper.

Osimhen has now scored in three consecutive games for Napoli and has taken his tally in the league to three after six appearances.

Napoli remain top in the league table on 29 points, just three ahead of champions AC Milan.

And in another Serie A fixture, Ademola Lookman was in action for Atalanta who lost 2-0 at home to Lazio.

Lookman was replaced in the 71st minute by Duvan Zapata.

Luis Muriel was sent off for Atalanta in the 90th minute after receiving two yellow cards.

    Osi-Bull…..one man riot squad….!!!

Chris Smalling would need the whole week off to recover from what Osimhen put him through today.

Happy for this dude. He had a way of keeping his enemies quiet. You can’t put to Shane whom has justified. One hallucinating Italian commentator said Raspadori was better because he scored a few goals when Osimhen was injured. Now,he knows better

That goal man dem. That type of goal can only be scored by these three at the moment; Osimene, Haaland n Mbappe. Osimenegoals is indeed a beast.

Facts! The 3 best young strikers in world football must be Hallaand, mbappe and our very own osimhen.Mbappe has tailed off a bit with his issues at psg. The SE need a reliable gk, another solid dm and another play maker and we could really be in business.

Come to think of it, the closest to that elite level is sadiq umar and hope he recovers asap. Moffi, Dessers are not bad but not elite.

Sadiq elite? Abeg talk something else, Sadiq cannot be mentioned alongside Osimhen my guy, he’s just a decent striker

Osimhen can be the best striker in the World. The Nigerian is very smart and talented.

  • SilasT 1 year ago

He comes in to change the game pattern. I go with Jong.

  • Pius Okpemu 1 year ago

Strikers like Nacho should learn from him to beef up SE forwards. Kudos Victor!

Who is nacho? Let’s have the memory. Meanwhile, I expected Osibobo to score at least 2 goals being a goal banger.

  • Osimhen was a torn in the flesh of the Roma defenders today especially Smalling…… Osimhen too was very solid defensively today making three defensive clearing headers from dangerous set piece situations….. Osimhen is an all round striker who is needed in a team for many reasons……But I still feel Napoli Midfielders should play the ball into space more for him to feed on……The Midfielders of Napoli hold onto the ball too much and they also shoot a lot……Lozano zielisky kwaraskielia elmas and politano always try to score by themselves when osimhen is clearly free…….If Napoli wants to win the scuddeto then they will have to dig deeper and rely more on osimhen’s magnificent runs like today.

You took the words from my mouth. In fact, the World best. That goal came from a very tight angle. Osimhen covers everywhere.

Can nigeria loan us oshimen iwobi to Qatar

  • Elijah samson 1 year ago

@Akp you are right. Osinhem was able to score many goals During his u17 days because the mildfielders feed him well with long balls. I believe if osinhem goes to a very good team that play to his strength, he will do wonders.

  • Only 2 No 9’s in the world today possess the powers Osimhen Showed in his goal today. OSIMHEN AND Haaland..when I compare the two I know what I am saying. OSIMHEN proved it Today with the power hand off.. Haaland has shown it twice this season Osimhen shows he has that ability. Again Haaland is the Only player Osimhen should be pitting himself against in today’s game

What a player. We are fortunate to have this player in our rank. He is definitely heading to the top. He help out in defense and he scores the needed goals. An impact player any day any time. I only pray he should be injury free this season may be Napoli will win the league. With Osimhen, Iwobi, Moffi, and few others doing well we will be one of the favorite for next nation cup.

Credit must go to Spalletti for holding onto Victor even after he blew his first big chance. I saw the frustration on his face but then after he converted an even difficult goal swerving the ball past a brilliant Rui Patricio. Another thing I noticed in the game was Roma players dirty antics to always grab and scratch Victor. Seria A is such a dirty league no wonder a player can be seen shoving the referee aftermath. Congratulations to Victor on such a powerful goal keep doing your best and strive to be even more clinical when free on goal by picking your spot well as this is what makes Haaland a terminator in the box.

  • Did Tammy Abraham play in the game?

    • Tammy Abrahams Ko Tammy Abrahams Ni funny at the time Tammy turned down Nigeria Osimhen was just about to sign a lucrative Deal with Napoli and Tammy was at Chelsea feeling too big now look at it, fast foward 2 or 3 years and to be quite frank the Level of Osimhen is way higher than Abrahams.

but yes he did play however he squandered an opportunity to score early on

      • Dr Banks 1 year ago

Who is Tammy Abraham where Osimhen stands tall above all, my dear friend Tammy was a spectator yesterday and he was rightfully substituted @ 64th minute

He believe he is too good for SE but God provided us with a more lethal Osimhen to shame him, he should continue his sojourn with the 3 Lions as bench warmer in friendly matches because am sure he can’t make the WC party for England

  • Zuka 1 year ago

Tammy Abraham vs Victor Osi-Ball. Who remembered we actually begged Tammy (via Pinick) to play with SE. THE BEST WAY TO TELL TAMMY F-U TOO IS NOT TO TELL HIM BUT TO SHOW HIM’
    Action speaks louder than words

Someone ones said Tammy Abraham is better than Osimhen, What’s happening now on same league..?

I want Osimhen In Chelsea to challenge Haaland next Season or even at Real- madrid to replace Benzima…
