Ozornwafor: I’m Determined To Improve As Galatasaray Player

Nigeria defender Valentine Ozornwafor is determined to keep learning the ropes as fast as he can after making his pre-season bow for Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray in Thursday night’s 4-1 defeat to German side, FC Augsburg, Completesports.com reports.

Ozornwafor replaced Emre Tasdemir
in the 49th minute of the pre-season friendly played at the Tivoli Stadion Tirol, Innsbruck.

”I’m a very young player. Everyday I learn something new. This game gave me an experience. The most important thing for me is to learn something new everyday, “Ozornwafor told reporters after the match.

“If you are a professional player, you need to adapt to the team as soon as possible. The new season is fast approaching and the manager want me to get used to the team as soon as possible.”

Ozornwafor, 20, also reveals that former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has played a big part in helping him settle down at the club.

“Babel made me watch some videos and also offer advice on how I can become a better player. He is a good teammate and good teacher too. I am always open to learning new things from him,” he stated.

Ozornwafor joined Galatasaray from Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba last month, penning a four-year contract.

He was part of the Nigeria U-20 side that took part at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland this year.

The tall centre-back earned his first callup to the Super Eagles in March 2019 for a friendly against the Pharaohs of Egypt but didn’t play a part in the encounter.

SAMBISA RISING. Hope this 4-1 defeat does not dampen the confidence of this “young” player. Looks a decent center back. Time to start the hard work. We could use more competition in the SE defense.
