  • Is this going to be another jamboree Olympics? Why is AFN still existing?

Even in Africa, our athletes are no longer the kings and queens of sprints and other short distant races. Athletes from South Africa, Ghana, CIV, Camerouun, and Malawi are overtaking us.

Play back the AAG just concluded in Ghana and retract  your comment, true the Olympic performance has been nothing but disappointment but no need exaggerating. Only SA athletes came anywhere near Nigeria in Africa, these other countries you mentioned are no where near Nigeria despite all the shortcomings, so get your facts right bro,

Early preparation should be the key nigeria sports is not going the right way at all. I pray amusan should put a smile on us.

    OMO LORI, KONI FILA.
A Yoruba saying that means a child has a head, but is lacking a cap to go with the head.
That is the situation of Nigerian athletes across all sports.
The talent is there. The desire is also there. But the administrative support is woefully inadequate. Gross incompetence, poor preparation, terrible decisions, corruption, athlete’s welfare ignored or shunned entirely.
As always, I’m laying the blame for our poor outing entirely on the doorstep of our useless administrators.

African countries are corrupted, but in their own way. Nigeria do a lot of embezzlement. I dont know how many times I hear emirates dont want to fly to Nigeria because they were holding on to the money. And a Hausa man the head of aviation was stealing money and sending it to his brother company. In Kenya they know that most of their talent is in running, specifically in the Kalenjin ethnic group. They have a school and program in Kenya

The talent and athleticism is there. But not enough money & preparation. Nigeria gonna be like India, good in academics, not in sports

See when that lady was representing Nigeria last olympics but was barred from joining because of late preparation of players on nigerias end. She switched allegiance and won under America

  • This is what you get when both young and adult have turn into suit maker, like this if me manage bronze, na to jubilate. Omase oooo, my dear country keep regressing in all ramification of life, like ki lo hun sele gangan?

At the moment it’s likeour medal hope lies only on Toby Amusan.

    • No, our medal hopes lie with our sports administrators.

When I was growing up in the 90s, our sports administrators could get away with using Wuru-Wuru preparations to achieve some mild to moderate success.

Wuru-Wuru no dey work again o!

So, let’s buckle up for more failures until these clowns wake up to their responsibilities.
