Thomas Partey says there were no offers for his services in January and insists he is happy at Atletico Madrid. After failing to make much of an impact during his first couple of seasons with Atletico, Ghana international Partey has managed to establish himself in the first team ever since the start of the 2017/18 season.
The 25-year-old midfielder made his 20th La Liga appearance of the campaign in Saturday’s derby against Real Madrid although he will want to forget about the match quickly after he was sent off in the 3-1 defeat.

Reports in January had linked Partey with a move to either Arsenal or Roma but, when quizzed about his future, he revealed there is nothing to the rumours. “In truth, there was nothing and I have not spoken to anyone. At the beginning of the season, I talked to the coach (Diego Simeone), because as a player, of course, I’m thinking of my future,” he said. “I think that there is no place where I understand myself better than here. I have to work hard, try to use every minute and evolve.”
