Barcelona midfielder Pedri has insisted that he has always been a die hard fan of the Blaugrana from childhood.
The Spanish midfielder, who is expected to be in the squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, stated this in an interview with ICON.
Pedri admits he grew up a Barca supporting, having moved to the club from Las Palmas two years ago.
“I’ve always said that, I’ve been a Barça fan since I was a child,” he told ICON.
“When I was little, almost everyone sympathised with Real Madrid, we were one of the few exceptions.
“If I would have played for Real Madrid? I think so. My ambition was to make my way as a professional footballer and it would have been very difficult to turn down the offer of one of the greatest in the history of the sport.
“That train passed and two years later I signed for my dream team. That of my family and that of my first idol Andrés Iniesta.”
