Pedro, Willian, Giroud Doubtful For Spurs As Sarri Rules Out Loftus Cheek

The trio of Pedro Rodriguez, Willian and Oliver Giroud are doubtful for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg clash against Tottenham Hotspurs at the Wembley stadium on Tuesday according to Maurizio Sarri reports Completesports.com.

Sarri also ruled out Reuben Loftus Cheek from the encounter after the England international copped a back injury in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in a FA Cup third round clash at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

“We don’t know about Pedro, Willian, and Giroud. They are doing better, had training with the team-mates, I don’t know if they can play tomorrow,” Sarri revealed during his pre-match conference on Monday.

“Loftus is out now, we need to know about the situation that has been troubling him.”

The Italian also expressed doubts over the availability of Cesc Fabregas for the clash.

“I have no news about Cesc. I don’t know if he can play tomorrow, he had a cramp in the calf in the last ten minutes and he needs to rest, but I don’t know the situation.”

“I don’t know (if he flew to France), yesterday he had a free day, so I don’t know. I can say only my opinion, I don’t know the decision of the club.

“In my opinion, he needs to go, the renewal of our club over 30 is one year, he has an offer for two. I don’t want to have a player like Cesc unhappy.”

Sarri also weighed in on the transfer rumours surrounding the exit of Callum Hudson Odoi from Chelsea and his importance to the club’s future for the .

“I am not in charge for these questions, it doesn’t depend on me. I want to speak to him only about the pitch, he is improving in the defensive phase.”

“He is a very important player, he is young but improving, especially in the defensive phase. He is improving and I am very happy with him. I don’t know the situation for the club, but for me he is an important player.”

“I don’t think so (moving to Germany to be a good situation). He is an English player, he has a great future here in England, with the national team with Chelsea.”
