Newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has promised to give local players equal opportunities in the team, reports Completesports.com.
Former handler of the team, Gernot Rohr was heavily criticised for neglecting players in the Nigeria Professional Football League during his reign in charge of the team.

Peseiro has however promised to give them opportunities to play for the team under his reign
Eight home-based players are in Nigeria’s squad for the friendlies against Mexico Ecuador.
“The national team is open for everybody. Players who play locally, and outside the country. The ones from the academy, it’s open for everyone. But they need to know, that first, they need to have quality. Second, demand and third, passion. If they can have these three points, they can play here,”Peseiro told Omasports.

“Of course we have many players, not only eleven, we have twenty, thirty, forty. We have many players to choose from.
“The most important thing is the team, more than players. In this moment, we need to create group spirit and know what’s best for the national team.”

Good news let the best legs from wherever be selected.
Let the so called local players qualify for the Chan competition first . Then we can see if they are good for the first team.
You think no home Based player deserve to be in super eagles? Did the so called foreign players qualified us to world cup? don’t be surprised some home Based players are better than the so called foreign nonsense
Well said Brotherman @Chima. Home based players are top quality. They will provide competition for foreign based players. It is possible for NPFL players to help Nigeria win the Nations Cup next year. Heaven bless all deserving home based Super Eagles players.

This boy deserves a chance, he is the closest thing to okocha in my opinion. It always amazes how you can call a samson tijani who is not playing regularly for his club and leave out TK who plays regularly. We need a 10 and this boy fits it, let us stop wasting time with an eze who is not interested. This friendly would have been a good opportunity to try a player with ability like this but instead the handlers keep wasting time. I hope Peseiro would do his own home work to comb around for very good Nigerian players and not leave it to the Nigerian technical crew who keep pushing good players out of the team.
Nice one @ Golden child, it really surprises me how we quite often ignore the needed players. Kehinde looks a real quality to add to the SE team. Hopefully Paseiro, looks in his direction.
@Glory, i tell you my brother! This boy is not quite the finished article but has bags of potential. For a midfielder, the boy has those sharp turns that leave his marker for dead. His dribbling ability is right up there . I look at those crosses that his team mates are wasting. It would have been Osimhen’s bread and butter.
Our Technical crew are calling samson tijani. No disrespect to tijani but he isn’t a regular for his club but Tosin Kehinde took his team to European competition and played in it. Besides, Tijani plays as a DM and we have a few of those in the team. Iwobi though does a decent job in the 10 role, he is not a 10. The sooner we realize it the better. At times, one can’t help wonder if the Nigerian technical crew are deliberately trying to sabotage the team or just plain clueless. There 2 positions that he been our archiles heel, gk and attacking midfield but we are not making any effort to correct this. We keep inviting dms. Onyeka, Ndidi, Bonke,Etebo, Kingsley Michael and I am sure the domestic players are no different. We then wonder why we struggle to create chances despite the plethora of attacking talent in the team.
Nice observation…..TK has been sensational this season……Good feet,Quick thinking,Nice shooting,Top class finishing…… Tosin kehinde ticks all the dots for a modern day play maker……SE midfield needs new blood abeg
Guys checkout this line up. Uzoho, Awaziem, Ekong, Bassey, Bonke, Aribo, Iwobi, Simon, Dessers, Moffi. This why I will always prefer a foreign coach for the SuperEagles.
I am with you 110% on this. They pick their teams devoid of sentiments.
I was expecting Eguaveon to use 3-5-2 against Ghana so Nigeria could have the free to attack and give Ghana’s defence double headache against Osimhen they were just dealing Ghana with. We made it too easy to for thwart our attack by feilding on Osimhen agsinst Djiku and Amartey. I will pay a lot of attention to our midfield today to see how Aribo and Iwobi will fare under this coach.
