Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro was at the Ghelamco Arena on Thursday night to watch Gift Orban in action for Belgian Pro League outfit, KAA Gent against West Ham United.
Orban was named in the starting by Gent in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final first leg encounter which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The 20-year-old came close scoring twice in the game.

Orban’s superb shot from about 30 yards narrowly missed target on 63rd minutes.
The forward’s acrobatic shot clipped the top of the crossbar on 82nd minutes.
Orban was replaced by Tarik Tissoudal seven minutes from time.
“At the Ghelamco Arena last night for the UEFA Conference League match between Gent and West Ham,” Peseiro wrote on his Twitter handle.
He has scored 14 goals in 12 games across all competitions since his arrival at Gent from Norwegian second division club, Staebek in January.

IF ORBAN IS MORE TALENTED THAN AKPOM THEN ORBAN MUST BE IN THE TEAM AHEAD OF AKPOM SIDES ORBAN CAN ALSO COME IN THROUGH THE WINGS AND PLAY A 10 ROLE PLUS HE IS A FREE KICK SPECIALIST WHICH NIGERIA CLEARLY LACKS. MOREOVER VICTOR BONIFACE IS ALSO AHEAD OF AKPOM NOW.

The improvised bicycle kick in 9:10 shows the mentality of the lad. A goal hunter.
Most strikers would not try such an audacious attempt in that situation. It takes courage and belief in yourself to attempt something like that in a Sunday league game, not to mention a Europa League quarterfinal.
The way he coped with the Westham defenders is additional evidence that Orban is ready for the big time. That is if his exploits in Belgium and previous Europa League games are not enough to convince doubting Thomases. He not only coped well, he was a huge threat.
Peseiro has now seen him in close quarters. It won’t surprise me if Orban’s name is conspicuously present in the next SE list.
The downside is that the surprise element is almost gone. Aguerd would have sent a text message to the Moroccan coach and his Moroccan team mates about this Nigerian striker that gave him a torrid time today. They and other African countries will be preparing to meet the Orban challenge as his reputation grows.
