Speaking about the battle for the gloves under Tuchel, the 32-year-old made it clear that he views the challenge positively rather than shying away from it.
“I feel for me personally it’s always good to have good competition,” Pickford said. “I’ve always said in interviews I’ve always wanted that competition.”

“I’m 32 now, you see keepers playing still at 40, still playing at the highest level. It’s about me focusing on myself; I set myself my own goals.”
With Tuchel eager to evaluate all options ahead of major international milestones, the competition between Pickford’s wealth of experience and Trafford’s rising momentum has injected a compelling narrative into the Three Lions squad.
