Pinnick States Conditons For Rohr’s Contract Renewal

President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick , has listed conditions for the contract renewal of Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, Completesports.com reports

Rohr’s current contract is due to expire in June 2020 and there are reports that the NFF will not extend the deal following the German tactician’s failure to abide with some terms of the existing contract.

There are also reports of frosty relationship between the pair.

Pinnick however has stated that the NFF is open to renewing the contract of the former Bordeaux handler who took charge of the Super Eagles in August 2016 and led the team to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.

“Rohr’s contract is due for renewal in June and we don’t have any issue with him at the moment,” Pinnick stated in a live interview with Channels Television on Monday morning.

”Contracts are classified documents . What we are going to do is strengthen the clauses in his contract. We are going to domesticate Gernot Rohr in Nigeria and domesticate him to our leagues, that’s just it.

”He needs to move around, watch some of the league games. We are not saying take a player from here and bring him to the Super Eagles immediately”.

The Super Eagles will host the Squirrels of Benin in a 2021 AFCON qualifying fixture on Wednesday at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo.

    • Hahahaha. Pinnick and LMC goons are ones that have work to do in this regard. Is there a league to watch – in the first place?

    I think that’s a nice development

”He needs to move around, watch some of the league games. We are not saying take a player from here and bring him to the Super Eagles immediately”.

So what are you talking about then? Forced him to go watch the league just because you are paying him?

If not to watch the league and get players for the National Team then why is he watching the league?

This is what happened when we have former politician in charge of our football.

This is what we get for not allowing our ex players to be our NFF.

This is what we get for allowing a form politician to be our NFF president.

Well, I trust Oga Rohr for that. He knows what to do because NFF are not new to him.

Like I always said, they are dictators and bossy. They are so controlling.

Instead of Mr. Amaju to say the contract of Mr. Rohr will soon come to an end and we will send him for a refresher course and we will drop Imama and brings in Amunike as an assistant coach to help Oga Rohr while

Peter Rufai or another goalkeeper trainer will also comes in for Aloy Agu but Mr. President does not concerned about the progress of the Super Eagles.

Don’t we believe Eagles can do much better than what they have done in Russia world cup and Afcon in Egypt if NFF strengthen the coaching staffs of the team?

Same thing that is happening in our sports also happening in our politics as a Country. Wrong people at office.

It’s time a change. The system is not working. We all have to change our mind set because this people do not care for us. They are just their to enrich themselves. The statement of Mr. Amaju tells a lot about Nigeria situation. Only God can help us. These our dictators are not ready to step down. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • I expect nff to tell Rohr to coach home based super eagles also. Heracles Almelo star Cyriel Dessers has been named Whoscored.com’s Player of the Week in the Dutch Eredivisie following the conclusion of the matchday thirteen fixtures. The Leuven-born striker, who is willing to represent the Super Eagles, was the star of the show as Heracles Almelo humiliated VVV Venlo 6-1 at Stadion ErveAsito (Almelo) on Saturday. Dessers scored a 26-minute hat-trick in the second half and provided the assists for the goals scored by Alexander. We need Dessers in the super eagles. He will be an asset to the team

I wouldn’t put my 2 cent on this.
Pinnick putting the cart before the horse.

The priority of any given national team coach is to select the best legs for the national team. The national team is not a development team. With all due respect , how many players in the Nigerian league can walk into the Super Eagles first 23. And let’s keep Ezenwa out of the narrative.the reason he is there is for another story. The same league players that can’t win the Wafu cup or beat a Togolese team!
And for all those that would say, the Super Eagles in the past have been made up of players from the home league.
Yes.the Past. When our league was functioning. When our best legs played in the league and we had few players in Europe or else where. And the anomaly of Keshi’s era is as it is, an anomaly, cause I ask, how far did the home based players in that squad go after the Afcon they won?
Even countries with better run leagues still seek the best legs for their national team out of their league ; the national team has a standard and such is the highest. Countries like Brazil, Argentina,Uruguay are predominantly filled with players from Europe, even as good as their league is!.Even world champions ,France with a good league still get most of their players out of their league.. Cause it would be self destructive to just invite players to the national team just because you think by doing that it would help develop the league.
    That’s bullocks!
The national team doesn’t develop the league. The league develops the national team.

As long as the league is not well run, even if Rohr moves around the whole Nigeria; the home based players would only be invited to the national team as training materials and I am saying that with all respect. Simply put, the best legs are out there right now and not in Nigeria.

Pinnick, LMC ,fix the league and I assure you, you won’t have to force a coach to go around the league to seek players for the national team.what is good don’t hide.even at night.the stars still shine.

God bless u for ur well said speech! We dey corner dey watch!

Nice one. Rohr should please watch our league matches and monitor the players. For all of you saying thrash about the league, try and watch the next fixture in the nearest stadia close to you. You will know that talents abound in the land. You all can spend ur money and energy watching the European leagues (no crime at all) but pls stop discrediting the NPFL. Rohr really needs to be domesticated. God bless Westerhof, Jo, Keshi and co.
