Pinnick: Under-Fire Rohr Won’t Be Sacked

President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pelvin Pinnick has reiterated his support for Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr despite recent calls for the German dismissal, reports Completesports.com.

Rohr came under intense criticism after the Super Eagles failed to beat the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header.

The Super Eagles were forced to a 4-4 draw by the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City last Friday, while both sides battled to a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture on Tuesday at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown.

Nigeria’s sports minister, Sunday Dare also came out openly to criticise Rohr and insists ”that the needful will be done”.

Pinnick has however backed the former Gabon and Niger coach to continue on the job.

“Rohr has done well as our coach, qualifying us for the World Cup and finishing third at the AFCON. It was the same coach who beat Argentina and drew with Brazil in friendlies,” Pinnick declared during his appearance on NTA’s Sports Parliament.

“He has our full support.”

Rohr, who was appointed Super Eagles manager in 2016, signed a contract extension with the NFF in March this year.

  • If you want Rohr to continue why not give him a good and experience assistance coach and move Yobo to assist under 20

    • Ya-Ya 3 years ago

Only 3 people know what is in Rohr’s contract that guarantees him absolute immunity from sack in spite of his obvious short comings as a technician.

These people are Dr Drey, Amaju, and Rohr. 2 of the 3 of them arefare fat from this quagmire while our football keeps ebbing. I’ll give you a hint… It is not Rohr.

  • Good news for super eagles

  • Dr Drey 3 years ago

No Pinnick….I disagree with you….we dont have a coach……it was our players individual brilliance that got us to beat Argentina, Draw Brazil and win all the 29 matches we have won and the 14 we have drawn. The 10 we have lost under him are are the only times he was in charge and that’s why we lost. LMAO

Some people go nearly crase for this news now……LMAO.

Make I step aside for one corner to read more lies they will come up with….shey de last time dem tell us say na Rohr use in hand draft in own contract WITHOUT ANY input from anyone for NFF come use ayelala talk to pinnick make e sign am without reading it…..LMAO. Haters are capable of anything.

Let the howling and gnashing of teeth begin…..!!!

  • Only in nigeria things are done up-side-down….

I was expecting the much awaited “sack letter”….. Guest what?
They still want to manage someone they say he’s clueless and rigid…..
    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahaha…..

    These people ehn….. Shar…..

Oga sack rohr na…. Let’s see the JORGEN KLOPP that would come and win afcon and world cup for SE….

Or the QUARDIOLA that would come and rape africa without loosing, oh i’m sorry; without drawing any match…. (how can quardiola loose….)…..

    • NFF do not have the money it takes to sack him, they want to sack him but they can not

  • Koladoc 3 years ago

Nothing new here. Amaju Picnic just confirmed Nigeria will NOT be African champions next year. Rohr will eventually be fired, but only after we are kicked out of the AFCON in the quarter-finals. Mediocrity is a Nigerian citizen.

  • Nigeria Bebeto 3 years ago

It is very obvious that oga NFF chairman does not have the money to pay him off …I really understand very well …rohr is very happy that this shit happened after he has renew other wise. ..he will not make it to The second tenure …both ways it is a win win for him …so I join him to laugh una …the sports minister has followed his colleague to contradict his self today he his with rohr tomorrow he will change like lia Muhammed …was he not the one who said we should leave rohr if we so not do not have some one who is more qualified like him …abeg …for me I think we should leave to run his contract …you guys gave him target allow him to see to it …haba he drew and it seems we lost and if we come lose nah ….haaaaa hell will let lose …

  • GLORY 3 years ago

Hahahaha. Hahaha. While they crucify here on the forum, we do ours in other realms and what we want always happens. Glory to JEHOVAH GOD who forever answers the prayers of the faithful. God bless Pinnick, God bless Dare, God bless Gernot Rohr, God bless SE, and Jehovah God Almighty High, high, and High bless NIGERIA. Talk is waste of time with the unreasonable but action is Supreme

  • Edoman 3 years ago

This is bad news for Nigeria football. Mark my words. The chairman will regret this decision in the nearest future.

  • Rohr signed a contract, so you can’t sack him until he breaches that contract. If NFF decides to sack him now, they will have to pay him for the entire duration of his contract and I don’t think they have that money now. So those who want him sacked should continue to pray for him to fail in his mandate. I am not a Rohr fan but I don’t want him to fail. It is not in his contract to win every match. The era of sacking coaches with impunity is long gone, FIFA is there to mediate. If sports ministry can bail NFF out with his pay out, then they can sack him if they want. Until then, we can only wish him well.

    • Koladoc 3 years ago

Wishing him to succeed or fail won’t affect his performances in any way. In the end, the German will collect his paycheque and Nigerians will be the loser. Rohr is incapable of leading Nigeria to victory at AFCON. It’s why I never wanted his contract renewed, but perhaps he was the one that paid the highest kickback. Na Naija we dey.

  • Ozony 3 years ago

We are always in a haste to sack. How do you think that we assemble our arrays of professionals to train only once and go out and defeat their opponent. An alternative would have been to use players from NPFL but as it currently stands our league is in its lowest ebb. So this option is out of the way. So the only option left for us is the former i.e. use the professionals but with the proviso that they should report to camp at least 6 days b4 the match. Remember that even the Olympic- winning team was almost defeated in Nigeria in their last tune-up match by a minnow. Also enroute our qualification for France ’98, specifically in the last match against Burkina Faso, we would have missed the qualification if not for the fact the Burkinababe keeper allowed the ball from a back-pass to pass in between his legs thus gifting Nigeria much needed 3 points (the match ended 2-1 here in Nigeria) to  qualify ahead of Guinea who defeated us in Conakry. Let me stop at these 2 examples but these were when we have world-class players (Jay-jay, Ikpeba,  Mutiu, Uche Okechukwu etc).
The problem is from our press who over-hype these players instead of taking them down the memory lane and reminding the SE and their handlers the dangers of reporting late to camp. How many of our journalists had constructive criticism of the team after our match against Algeria? Algerians knocked ball around sometimes for like 2 minutes b4 our player could touch it. None was worried by that. They made Rohr to relax.
Next was Pinnick telling us that we will win the nation’s cup. I have never in my life seen any childish comment like that from a FA boss. Be it the FA bosses in 1980, 1994 or in 2013. These are clogs in the wheel of progress and not Rohr per se.

  • xxxxxxxxxxxplay 3 years ago

No sack for Rohr now it’s obvious Nigeria wont win the next nation cup and certainly Rohr wont take us to next world cup if we qualify eventually.

  • my only pain is nigeria wont be africa champion next year..bcux according to pinnick, we should exercise patient till them kicked us out of afcon next year, then he will take action.. but are sure pinnick does not need brain surgery?

  • Edoguy 3 years ago

Nigeria cannot afford to fire Rohr, it is too expensive.

Best way is to allow the team fail to reach the AFCON goal.
NFF take the world cup qualifier seriously…its starts before the AFCON

  • Oakfield 3 years ago

Lol…… Some people have already booked appointments with their doctors as a result of this news, that’s why they haven’t popped up their heads yet here. As soon as the pills finish their work in their system, they shall surface but for now, they under intensive care. Stats don’t lie. Even rohr’s worst record as a coach is enough to make him retain his job just as mr picnic made reference to our games against Argentina and brazil and our qualification for the world cup and nations cup respectively in grand style. But there is a serious problem which I think is partly responsible for the string of poor results lately. What is yobos input as an assistant coach? Is he not supposed to provide expert advice and positive suggestions to the coach when his head is full? What is then is job as a vice coach? We can clearly see what is happening already. E dy play e dy show. Yobo is just a sitting duck and nothing, absolutely nothing positive would ever come from him in terms of technical input bcs he cannot give what he doesn’t have.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

      https://www.completesports.com/yobo-i-will-bring-experience-motivation-to-super-eagles/.

Yobo didnt promise technical input when he came on board o. So biko dont expect anything technical from someone who isnt a coach in he first place. He said he is only bringing experience and motivation…..as per motivational speaker concerned (lolz). If he were to still be a pundit on supersport you would have heard world class analyses of all the 4 games we have played since a came on board……but talk is cheap….all in analysis don develop wings since e begin sidon for bench they feel the hot seat. LMAO. Talk once again is cheap. Its easier to sit in front of 250 inch 3D HD Tv and analyze and criticize….Amokachi do am, oya take SE inaaaa. Oliseh do am, oya take SE too….inaaaa. Na Yobo dey hear am hot now too…LMAO. We have been conceding the silliest of goals since Yobo brought experience and motivation to the SE. Lolz.

Loool.. If him dy feel the heat like this as an ordinary asitant coach wetin go happen when he eventually becomes a coach??? Loool… Yeah, one ex cricket international said he’d sail and sink with him, I hope he ‘s getting ready to stand by him bcs e don red now b if time. Lool…..

Nobody believed that Keshi would win nations cup but he won it. On Rohr, he can win nations cup too. Keshi is not that better than Rohr even though Rohr is not fantastic. If Rohr can take Bordeaux to UEFA cup finals with a young team, then there is something good in him. Lets support him since we are stuck with him for now. Sack him you pay millions, leave him without supporting him you get worse results. We know the rational choice to make at this time. Ciao!!!

    • @Chuks..I used to believe you are Omo9ja but with this comment, u can’t be.

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

I said it before that NFF didn’t have the balls to it. NFF officials don already share moni wen for dey as contingency plan in cases like dis. So now that that case it done and over with. GR needs to step up his game ooo. He must learn to always remind his team that soccer isn’t a 45 mins affair, the players fitness, psychology, mental strength, attitude towards games has to be improved. He denand clean sheets in games, curbing us conceding goals from set piece has to be paramount, holding on to leads against any team (big or small) should be the norm, devising strategies for using our own set pieces to score goals should be worked on. Not all set pieces should be shooting at goal, some cases could even require 3-4 people touching the ball b4 it ends in the net. If he doesn’t know, he can Google soccer freekicks and corner kicks treats. In basketball and American football, there are trick plays that coaches in these sports use to score. GR should learn to device those strategies and use them to our advantage. Another strategic area GR should look into is how to get opposing team players red carded in games to have a numerical advantage. For example, if I know I have an opposing player with a yellow card and I have a player that is very crafty in dribbling or speed, I will send my crafty player to attack that defender and also leave a rrailing leg for the guy to hack incase, if that happens another yellow card equals a red. These are strategies smart coaches employ. Guys some of the things we discuss here are things people in the technical department (if bad belle no dey) of NFF should be pointing out to GR as areas improvement is required. These are things than can be measured and then assessed if progress has been made or not. Question, who takes statistics of game for our teams? Remember how we dropped points against algeria for playing shehu who was not supposed to play that match due to cumulated number of yellows? These are areas people in the NFF needs to address and not only for the SE but for all the other cadet teams too. Just a thought

  • OmoEsan 3 years ago

It was just yesterday I posted my comment stating that the NFF cannot afford to sack Rohr at the moment, cuz they cannot afford to pay him off and secondly they cannot afford a gaffer that is better than Rohr,(either local or foreign), hence going by Rohr’s statistics, the devil we know in Rohr is much better than the unknown angels some people are clamouring for.

This news about NFF’s decision to swim on with Rohr would by now have given some people headache, but I advice this group to brace up and enjoy Rohr while he lasts cuz Rohr is going nowhere till after Qatar 2022.

I laughed when I read many Rohr antagonists saying Rohr will be sacked after the AFCON ‘next year’ cuz they are sure he can’t lead us to a victory. Unfortunately this group has forgotten that there’s no AFCON until January 2022, so they’re stock with Rohr till at least January 2022 (based on their unguarded permutations).

Even if Rohr doesn’t win the AFCON in January 2022, we can be sure that the Super Eagles will still give a good account of themselves and as far as AFCON is concerned, SE’s worst result under Rohr will be a semifinal place. Please which reasonable FA will sack a coach 4 months to the world cup cuz he didn’t win AFCON? Even Guardiola will not deliver any meaningfull result if he takes charge of SE four months to world cup. We sacked Amodu in January 2002 and we had a terrible world cup with the highly respected Modakeke High Chief. We repeated this error again with Amodu in January 2010 and Lars Lagarback took our money and handed us the our most disgraceful world cup outing so far.

The ‘Rohr must go’ wailers should listen and listen good, the NFF will not sack Rohr, not now and not after AFCON whether we win or not. The best the NFF can do now is to give him every necessary support.

Hate Rohr like you hated Westerhof, frustrate him like you did Westerhof, Rohr will lead us to Cameroun ( & who says he won’t win the AFCON),Rohr will lead us on to Qatar, get a decent result in Qatar, complete his contract and thereafter take a walk. The earlier we let this sink in, the better for us all.

    • GLORY 3 years ago

Thumbs up @ Omoesan. Only reasonable minds will get the onions of your post, but truth is such minds are very few amongst nigerians, so those calling for Rohr’s sack can wail like the WAILERS forever. NA SO WE GO DEY SIDDON DEY LOOK DEM

  • Pinnick and Rohr are Con men. Believe it or not. Pinnick is using this old fool to swindle the FG. There has been no improvement in our football in nearly 8 years of his reign. He’d rather go abroad scouting and begging foreign born half-baked footballers instead of working on how to develope our dying league. Most times I wonder if our leaders are being paid to punish us. Tufiakwa.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Hahahahahahaha….was it Rohr that killed your league for you that should now develop it for you…??? LMAO. All the people in NFF, LMC and the 20 club owners of the NPFL cannot develop the league, it is Rohr that should also come and develop it for you. It is Loew that is developing Bundesliga and Southgate that is the head of FA premier league, that is why it is Rohr’s duty too to develop your league. Lolz

  • My question is; why did they (the NFF) renew that Clause during the contract renewal? I smell a rat here. Pinnick is not telling us something. Con man.

Nobody hates Gernot Rohr but we want our football to move forward.I noticed that there are so many young minded individuals in this forum that don’t know our trade mark in football.I will never insult or call names here. But we all are learning everyday.I saw some guys here insulting and calling yakubu ayigbeni all sorts of names because of the miss in the world cup and i said to myself that truly Nigerian youths are still sleeping.A yakubu ayigbeni world cup miss and our politicians looting us dry, which one is the heavier missed ????.A player that holds the record as one of our best strikers in National team football is whom people are condemning!!!. No player presently in super eagles in striking position is better than yakubu aiyegbeni,i don’t need any soothsayer to argue with me.Osimhen is just coming up and i wish him well but for now yakubu still holds the record after late yekini.

Even if Yakubu did not missed the goal and we qualify, are we going to win the world cup?? NO sirs.

For the NFF to say they can’t sack rohr, well pinnick knows the intoto of everything but the most important thing for me is that our football is declining and something must be done.Thank you

Who should NFF hire should they sack Rohr?

1.) Emmanuel Amunike – former u17 world cup winner, coached Tanzania

2.) Hector Cuper – Copa CONMEBOL: 1996 with Mallorca, Supercopa de España 1998 with Valencia, Supercopa de España 1999, La Liga Coach of the Year – Don Balón Award: 1999, UEFA Club Coach of the Year: 2000, European Coach of the Year—Tommaso Maestrelli Award: 2000, Globe Soccer Awards best Best Arab National Team Coach: 2017, CAF Coach of the Year: 2017

3.) Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert-spectacular players in their days, good mentorship for our midfielders; both with Cameroon in 2019 AFCON, coached AC milan, astounding knowledge of football

4.) Ndubuisi Egbo – took Tirana to the UEFA CL qualifiers

Osasuna vs Huesca and Nwakali is not in the starting 11, what exactly is wrong? It is that he isn’t training harder than the current guys to force his way into common Huesca or is he just not good enough? This is very worrisome if he is suppose to compete in that midfield. At this rate he may never smell SE ooo. Shehu don put himself in a very good place for a re-callup based on his performance against SL. Ndidi is coming back to full fitness, Ejaria might be available next year, Etebo, Aribo, Iwobi still pushing strong in that midfield, not to mention Azubuike. E go hard for Nwakali if all these guys maintain dia forms oooo. Nwakali needs to go double his effort and give the coach of Huesca no reason to leave him on the bench. Not sure he has played a total of 90 mins this entire season (I could be wrong ooo). If he isn’t getting regular football in small newly promoted Huesca, people should not be mad when he isn’t even on the standby list for SE. His predicament is worrisome to be honest. I didn’t see the sub list if this game, so am not even sure he is on the bench. Hope se dem nor do d guy strong tin for 9ja? Just a thought

  • Michael Adelami 3 years ago

Clerance seedorf and Patrick Kluivert that Thor beat just last year lol.
I am sure if it were reversed, and Thor had beaten them as Nigeria coach and assistance, you would have by now been clamoring for Rhor.
In the case of Cuper, why was he sacked by Eygpt?
I love the case for Amunike, cos he is a Nigerian, however I think we should look at it critically in the ways:
    1. Siasia was a good coach in our underaged competition, but the opportunity given to him as the coach of the senior team which I really welcome as at that time did not yield good results.
    2. We need first test him at a more advanced age group, e.g u23 football before we give him our National team, reason being that he did not perform well at the last AFCON. We cannot make the same mistake we made by putting Yobo as assistant coach.
    3. If we could demote Yobo and bring Amunike as the assistant coach to compliment Rhor (Rhor has to be in charge),then there’s no problem and we can be sure that after he sees out his contract, then Amunike May take over.
    4. If we want new coaches, then go for Eneramo, Eddie Newton they are Nigerians and they are seasoned coaches.
    5. Egbo may not be bad but we need some caution.
National team is not a place where you keep hiring and firing managers, like it is done in club sites and to grow as a National team, you need Patience ( this is a virtue in all facet of growth).
What if Rhor wins the nation’s cup, are we still going to fire him?

    • Edoguy 3 years ago

I know you support Rohr, I like him too, however, the problem with Rohr is his ability to do nothing when the going is tough. I will give you instances,

1.) Against Argentina in 2018 WC – After he qualified us from a difficult group, and beat Argentina with a new formation, he then stamped his authority on the team and we lost all our friendlies, that wasnt the judge of his performance. we could have qualified from that group if we had held the 1-1 draw against argentina. Rohr had 3 defensive midfielders on the bench, 3 defenders on the bench and could have played a different formation when things was tough, but he did nothing

2.) Against Algeria at the AFCON 2019 – when the going gets tough, Rohr could not tell his players something different to hold the lead against Algeria and fell to Algeria as a result of doing nothing. He had 3 DMF and 3 DF on the bench

3.) Rohr’s selection is bad-Look like he doesnt know the players. Against SL 2nd leg in freetown, the pitch is bad…the best way to play was a route 1, he had onuachu on the bench, he doesnt know the right time to use the players.

The reason we want Rohr to go, is because Rohr appears clueless about his players, and his decisions either sparks of ignorance or just plain nepotism. He has done well for the SE, but it is high time he leaves, so that we can get to the semi final of the WC. This is the best he can do. I have it on good source that the players think the same and think Rohr is not good enough.

      • Dr Banks 3 years ago

@Edoguy nawa for you o, stop creating lies and false scenario just to buttress your point
        1) We beat Poland 1:0 enroute 2018 WC, so we didn’t lose all our friendlies, played well against England in Wembley. Was it Rohr’s fault that Ighalo couldn’t tap in a clear goal scoring opportunity with the goal post and GK at his mercy? Or was it GR fault that the referee denied us a clear penalty? Or what could GR do about the Soccer Genius Messi, Aguero, Di Maria, Dybala, Higuan, Otamendi etc.
        2) We never had a lead over Algeria in AFCON 2019, they scored first with an own goal deflected in by Ekong, we equalised with a penalty when an Algerian defender stopped Etebo’s goal bound shot with his elbow. Thereafter we took the game to them and outplayed them until the unfortunate Mahres’ free kick in the dying minute
        3) I can’t believe you can advocate for Onoachu in Freetown, guys lets put this debate to rest once and for all. This guy is simply not good enough for SE, has he ever had a near miss in SE jersey apart from the only goal against Egypt? No meaningful contribution or any wow moment in SE colour despite numerous chances given to him. How many headers did Osinmeh has in Benin, at least 2 hit the post while about 3 narrowly missed target, who were delivering those crosses? Abi na cross from opponents? Iheanacho scored a beautiful header that was wrongly disallowed for offside. Do you think your sluggish Onoachu will find himself in such position to score?
Enough time has been given to this guy, let others come and we can see what they can add

Words of advice…….don’t allow your hatred for GR becloud your sense of judgement and reasoning bro

  • Emotions and sentiments is gradually giving way to realities. You just don’t sack a coach because he drew two matches while he is still top of The group and on course to meet his target. Barcelona tried it and they have not recovered till today.

The Honorable Minister must by now realised how he had embarrassed himself. At that level, you don’t rush to press with that kind of degrading statements without a clear view of all the facts. It shows a heavy disconnect between him and Pinnick.

I always knew it will come to this.Reasoning will prevail eventually.

Now that we are sticking with him, the NFF must also take urgent steps to help him to succeed.First on the card it to improve the quality of the technical bench. It is now obvious that Yobo does not bring much to the table at this point ànd should be seconded to the U20 team to gain the necessary experience.Punditry and hands on experience are not the same he must have realised by now.

Other coaches we have had are allowed to make the choice of their assistant particularly the assistant coach, but strangely this time, The NFF retained the power to appoint assistant coaches for the team and it has been one goof after the other.First it was the bribe taking one, to the fumbling imama and now to the inexperienced and calamitous Yobo.Assistant coaches are usually the head coach right hand man and both may have worked together for some time and they both trust each other judgment. The people that put him there complained that Rohr does not take his advise, Why will he if what he is offering is watery?

The NFf must correct this by retracting their step on Yobo for now.Bring in a more matured and experienced Ammunike and either of Carl Ikeme or Vincent Enyeama for Alloy Agu.Then I wonder if the team have a psychologist. Robinson Okosun used to do a great job here.

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Nwakali on now for Huesca. This is indeed good news for him and 9js

  • Oga Samuel, I humbly disagree with aspects of your presentation. Kai! Please I beg you to watch again that miss on YouTube.Fifa termed it the miss of the century. My great grand mother would have poked that in! Even if Yakubu scored 1000 goals for us, that singular miss eclipsed everything he achieved in football.Unfortunately, his name will always be synonymous with that miss and there is nothing anyone can do about it.You think dude is a fool that he has not taken coaching badges. He knows no one will listen to him or take him serious. So he should not come and disturb us here. If he had scored , we would have been in the second round.

Only in Nigeria you will have an NFF overlook a guy that played for sporting Lisbon and Barcelona, Won the U17, Coached the U20, coached clubsides in Africa, qualified Tanzania for Afcon after 32 years, coached in Afcon proper for a guy whose career highlight was playing for a struggling everton, have been partying for the past 6 years since he retired, and you expect magic from the technical bench? Like seriously? Yet we complain of favoritism in our wider political space with appointments? Come off it man

i remember how brazil came to abuja national stadium nd whitewashed us 3:0 even when we had jay jay okocha doing all the dribblings, kanu nwakwo, nd others how it was just so easy for them to outwit us….they gave us bitter baptismal of soccer there on our soil but now gernot rohr,in his usual humble manner, lead us to draw with the same brazil nd we even scored first with a very young team against a star studded one……please leave the man alone

Having seen the Huesca vs Osasuna match with Nwakali playing for almost 30 mins in the 2nd half, and many other matches he has played for Huesca I now know why he rarely makes the 1st team and why GR doesn’t seem to look his direction. Not haring on him but compared to the guys in the present SE he isn’t better than anyone of them. He is too slow, he is a defensive liability as he barely looks behind him to track a player on the opposing team, his eyes is only focused on the movement of the ball, a player can move behind him and he wouldn’t know. He gives the ball away too cheaply, I can count like 4 times he gave the ball away cheaply. His marking is very poor in my view. However, with the ball at his feet, he can make some good passes but he doesn’t have that vision to play that incisive pass. He is at best a player that should be on the standby list for now. When you check the present midfielders we have and tge up and coming ones, Nwakali’s chances of making the SE 1st team is very slim imho. If we play the 442 which is GR favorite formation, he can’t make it as he will put too much pressure on tge midfield due to his slowness and poor marking style. For his team, he barely contributes to in terms goal scoring which is something Aribo/Iwobi/Ejaria does both for club and country. He can’t bench Ndidi/Etebo/Shehu for tge DM position. So where does he fit in?

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

I pity you. People who played football at the highest level will soon come and accuse you of running Nwakali down….LMAO. Nwakali is far better that all SE midfielders including Mikel o. So just leave am as like that as e dey hot make e for nor cause quarrel. Lolz
I dont know why some people are always hell bent on forcing players down the throat of the coach. Nwakali this Nwakali that. This is a kid who as been awful in all the games he has played so far this season….as e go bad for am reach e come go plait hair again an indication of lack of focus.

      • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Drey… Shut up. A player has to feel good about himself regardless. His plaiting hair means nothing, and specifically not a loss of focus. How much have you criticized the one done by Samuel Kalu and Simon Moses? He may not be playing not because he is not good or deserving… Certain coaches prefer players over others not for want of quality. Those playing ahead of him… How has Huesca fared this season? Six draws… and 3 losses. You will think those being preferred ahead of him are doing anything special. He will definitely come good… If not for the idiot we have as coach, no coach will ever prefer Onyeka to a half fit Nwakali… Whiteman asslicker!
When Leon Balogun was being frustrated on the becnch
Was it because he was not good?
Another coach saw through that and took him.

        • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

So if you’re the coach you will leave out a player who is playing in the Champions league for a player who is still struggling to get game time at a relegation fighting club?? Lord have mercy. The Nwakali I watched last night still have a long way to go to smell the SuperEagles. The only thing working for him is the league he plays in. Initially, I felt if he’s getting valuable game time he won’t be ignored because he plays in La Liga. For now He’s at best good for a spot on our standby list. Too slow for a CM. I doubt if he can displace any of Ejaria, Shehu, Azubuike or Azeez if all are available. An Onazi will even be an upgrade on him if he can’t be playing regularly at a club like Huesca. Don’t worry you will have to deal with the idiot of a coach till 2022.

          • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Ay…abeg leave that complete Idiot to rant. Kalu and Simon plait hair when they were on top of their game. His Nwakali that is better than everybody else is struggling for game time with very awful and pathetic performances in a tiny club like Huesca but his priority is to do show of and be plaiting nonsense hair…..LMAO. Your career dey go down like oil drill na hair plaiting naim come your mind. What an unserious fellow. The time and energy he is supposed to rethink his life and redirect his destiny he is using to to plait hair….LMAO.

Plenty excuses…”He may not be playing not because he is not good or deserving. Certain coaches prefer players over others not for want of quality….” Hahahahahaha…..This idiot has not even taken time to watch Nwakali’s matches this season at all. Nwakali has been horrible so far this season…and that is a FACT. that he is even having a spot on the bench of Huesca is a miracle. I have watched all his matches this season and it has been from one awful performance to the next. Stop giving us FAT LIES here. STOP IT. Go and lie to you white wife and children in the white man’s country where you live, you that is not a whiteman’s asslicker. It is not the coach that doesn’t like Nwakali. He simply has been awful and hasnt shown any quality since he signed for Huesca. I cant pin point any of the 1st team players he is better than. His coach brought him on when they were leading 1-0 to shore up he midfield but infact that was when Osasuna even took over the midfield, equalized and almost took the lead. Your starboy who is better than people who have won champions league was a short one to his team….a defensive liability and an attacking let down. He will definitely come good….he will come good. So you even know he is not good yet but your stupid self wants him to be given a guaranteed shirt in the SE….? So we should be waiting for him to come good and not invite others who are already good. The idiot we should have sacked as a coach is not as Idiotic as you. He monitors our players and knows those who are deserving of a call up. He doesn’t sit in his palour and start compiling lists from google. Your fully fit messaih cannot even contribute anything meaningful to an ordinary club like Huesca…..but should be called up ahead of a player who is playing in the UEFA champions league….and you claim you played football…..hahahahaha….bloody lair. No wonder you failed woefully…LMAO
He should continue coming good you here. Others are already cementing their places at their clubs and the National team. Your tin-god can even go and add peruvian hair to the one he as done so far…..LMAO
Nwakali is better than all SE midfielders including Mikel…..LMAO. Junior Ajayi is better than Iheanacho, Dessers and Onuachu put together…..LMAO…ROTF….!

Thank God, someone else has noticed this about nwakali.
@proudly 9ja points were the same one nwakali coach (when he was playing in Netherlands) raised, especially the defensive aspects. Currently, nwakali can’t stand side by side with iwobi. Iwobi beats him in everything – incisive passes, workrate, form, technical ability to create chances, pull strings in the midfield, etc. I wish this guy really develop, because I personally liked him during his u17 days. There’s no one to bench in super eagles current lineup – ndidi and shehu (DM), aribo and etebo (CM), iwobi and (ejaria/eze)(AM). I don’t know, but azubuike is not ideal for long term. I would go for alhassan Ibrahim for DM, even ahead of shehu when we get to world cup qualifications.
As for Kalu assisting, I was said it that the guy is arguably our best winger currently. Apart from goal contribution (which he is improving day by day), there’s probably no quality this guy lack as a winger – speed, dribbling, creating chances in tight spaces, crossing, final balls, long range shooting, long balls, work rate, etc.
My forward lineup – osimhen as main 9, iheancho supporting forward, he will constantly partner osimhen up front, musa as false 9 in lesser games(all 3 for strikers). Kalu, chukwueze (both of them played one of the best brand of counter attack against Ukraine, even rohr pointed it out) and lookman.

    • JimmyBall 3 years ago

The only one who was absent in midfield was Ndidi… Yet your midfield generals could not even assert themselves against non-league part-time Sierra Leonians players home and away… football no be by name tag… I be Dunga, I be Carlos Valderrama… It’s based on what you can do come crunchtime!

The Sports Minister is bringing his personal ego and political agro to divide and destroy the Super Eagles. He is definitely ignorant of the terms of reference and conditions in Gernot Rohr’s contract with the NFF and the roles and responsibilities of governments in their relations with FIFA. Why he preferred to first go to thr press to talk about sacking the national coach without consulting with Pinnick snd Amokachi shows the level of incompetence in sports administrstion in Nigeria. Besides you cannot sack anybody whose salary you don’t pay. There’s a blatant lack of maturity and knowledge.

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Am not GR but if I were him I will ensure I win the 1st match in March AFCON qualifiers with my name team to ensure qualification and fir tge 2nd match I will play my 2nd 11 just to weed out those surplus to requirement. I won’t take the match lightly and I will tell the players this is a test for future call ups, so if they dont play well they should forget about getting recalled as it is his head that would be on the chopping block so he needs to assert himself. He should let the NFF know this match was to assess whether some fringe players merit forward call ups. He should let Nigerians also know that we are going into the match to win it but more importantly is to know which players are good enough to be part of his team. This is were players like
    Osigwe
    Ebuehi-Omeruo-Awaziem-Collins
    Ejuke-Shehu-Etebo-Dennis
    Musa-Olayinka

With this squad we should be able to win Lesotho or Benin whichever team we are playing 2nd after we must have already qualified for AFCON. GR should be bold and stick with these guys for at least 50 -60 mins. If there are players being imposed on the GR, this will be the best time to use them so they can be exposed to Nigerians, hence when GR doesn’t call them anymore, there won’t be any issues like he is favoring certain players. To me ooo, players like Onuachu and Semi need not be recalled going forward as we have seen enough. Iheanacho too is playing on thin ice, his callup should be reviewed carefully. His only saving grace is that he is a striker. If Olayinka plays well and shows more hunger and bite, Iheanacho would have to be demoted to standby list until he sorts his club future out. Sadiq Umar is also waiting in the wings, although he plays in the segunda B with Almeria, he has played games and scored twice which isn’t too great but here is a striker that would easily substitute for Osimen if we need someone with height, speed, skills, and ability to score goals. Dessers too need to start playing regularly for Genk and scoring goals to be relevant. Maja never show enough to warrant call ups. Him nor look like a good striker to me, not very skillful, yes he hustles but he doesn’t possess that thing that good strikers have imho. Ultimately na GR choice on what to do as I nor go folo am carry him own cross.

Guys, I bet PSG will sack THOMAS TUCHEL since they blew a 2 goal lead against Monaco. They were up by 2 goals going into the 2nd half b4 they capitulated and lost 3:2. The same way SL scored 4 unanswered goals to gain a draw with SE thats how Monaco scored 3 unanswered to win the game today. Monaco like SL were dead and buried while PSG like SE stopped playing. The difference is our game ended in a draw while PSG lost. I bet PSG will fire tuchel tomorrow lol.

One valuable lesson this international window has thought us is that SuperEagles should braze themselves for tough matches against Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia during the WorldCup qualifiers. The complacency in the encounter with Sierra Leone is absolutely not acceptable and I’m sure Rohr and his boys must have understand the importance of qualifiers.

To be honest I really can’t fathom exactly what happened to the SuperEagles in that second half. SuperEagles why did I love you so much?? However, there are still some positives over the two legs. The only thing I would’ve done better in that first leg is replacing Osimhen after the injury with a midfielder to support Etebo. Taking out Balogun should’ve been replaced by either Aina or Ebuehi and bring Akpoguma into the CB position.

Akpoguma is not a bad defender and he does have the capability to play as a Right back. It’s not Edikaikan to be playing regularly in the Bundesliga for a club like Hoffenheim. I believe he’s just getting used to the African terrain and he did really well in the return leg. Having said that, he should be playing as a CB or one of 3 CBs in a 3 man CBs formation. Sanusi should retain his spot at Left back, then return Aina to his natural RB position or bring in Ebuehi. Awaziem will have to battle for a spot in the CB position. Iwobi, Aribo and Etebo didn’t do badly in the midfield especially Etebo, but it is glaring that we missed Onyinye in both FIFA windows.

Nigeria seriously need more options in midfield in case of injury to key players. Ejaria is probably the only other option we have, but he’s more of a CM than DM, and gladly Shehu proved that he can be a capable deputy when called upon. Chukwueze provides a plethora of chances with his direct running and dribbles. He just needs to be more precise in his decision making which he seems to be improving a lot in that aspect. I like the fact that Iwobi can ship in with his own share of goals when the need arises we just need to stay focus for 100 minutes in any given game.

Next year will be very crucial as we will be playing 10 matches including a few friendlies if time permits as we embark on a long marathon of WorldCup qualifiers and preparations for the AFCON in January 2022. We have a core of our players doing relatively well in Europe. The coaching crew just need to work on their mental focus and alertness in key moments. I believe this SuperEagles will start peaking starting from the next FIFA window. We’re already moving on to the future since Rohr will still be in charge till at least 2022. Anyone who underrates the SuperEagles can do so at their own peril. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE#

  • In Nigeria once your opponent come from some goals down and force u to a draw; the next step is to sack him ASAP…..
That is the mentality in this part of the world…..

    I wish u all Rohr till 2022….

  • Kingston 3 years ago

@proudly 9ja… This is a lose card you are planning here, both in long term and short term.
    1. We are yet to qualify for afcon, Though a single point could seal that. But when you are in rohr shoes, you have to deliver ease pressure and gain the confidence of your employers, and using players that have zero playing chemistry is not too wise. Benin republic will come out in full force, why take chances? Win them and be certain that the pressure will reduce a thousand times.
    2. “if they dont play well they should forget about getting recalled as it is his head that would be on the chopping block so he needs to assert himself”. This is bringing sentiments into coaching. Some of these players have lost it totally. Players like jamilu Collins is out of super eagles 23 man squad, probably until he starts playing in bundelisga top flight. Ola aina is better than him even as a left back. For now – rightback position is for ehizibue and ebuehi to battle it out. For leftback is for ola aina and sanusi to do likewise. I will prefer aina to sanusi especially for crucial matches. Sanusi positional play is almost zero, always leaving his man unmarked. I know aina says he prefers playing as a rightback, but that position is already filled. But the leftback is showing lapses. Anyway, I don’t know why ehizibue has not been invited since after covid 19 stuff.
Dennis and olayinka are no go area. These two, though talented, don’t have a chance against a full super eagles squad. Dennis case is worst. As a winger, he can’t displace kalu, chukwueze or simon. This means he has to battle out the fourth spot against ejuke and lookman. For Dennis to be considered at all, he has to be scoring about 15 goals per season or else standby list is the farthest he may go. For olayinka, he should leave the league he is playing for, and that’s still even debatable because of the likes of moffi, maja and that guy playing for koln (his name too long to remember lolz) would improve in form. And olayinka will have to still wait for musa to retire, until then no show.
    3. I don’t know why etebo and awaziem are on that list. Those two are part of super eagles future. I will go for etebo ahead of aribo when playing against African teams. Awaziem is surely better than omeruo and ajayi (my opinion). I don’t also support dropping ajayi. Though his position in the pecking order is dropping quite fast.
    4. And what is the stuff about Iheanacho walking on thin ice? He scored in the first game he started for us since how many years. He also should have been on the score sheet in the second game he started if not for poor officiating. Iheanacho is way better than all those strikers you mentioned. I don’t know why fans are just trolling on the guy unfairly. Imagine someone saying junior ajayi is better than him. Iheanacho and osimhen partnership will be our trump card in afcon.
    5. If I were the coach, I won’t do any test and run against the remaining qualifiers even in friendly. I will stay on the players available, and build them coherently. They need to have deep understanding about themselves and individual style of play inorder to compensate for their lack of experience and age. Super eagles inability to string five to six passes in a row is largely due to the fact that the playing pattern of the coach has not been fully integrated by everyone. Remember that I’m speaking from a long and short term perspective. The players I mentioned to be dropped are either old and not performing or are young and yet to prove themselves.
These are just my view. @proudly 9ja is always on point with his analysis but on this one I beg to differ. This alone proves the difficulty in coaching. There’s always a chance that what you are planning can be countered constructively. That’s why being a super sports analyst is not the same as being a coach. Ask amunike, olishe and yobo.

    • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Kingston how some of you just carpet and rubbish players surprises me! Have you even given Olayinka…guy doing well in his club and Europa league, enough time and he disappointed you? Have you done same to Junior Ajayi and Dennis to say they should wait for other players to retire before being considered in Eagles? If you don’t know Olayinka left Belgium for Czech Republic and Czech has a good league. Junior Ajayi will star for Al-Ahly on 28.11.2020… Make sure to watch. People should change club yet there are those being invited even without club… football no be by club, or by playing champions league… Most European teams can’t even beat South American teams… Who sabi play ball no need more than 15minutes to convince. I have seen ones like Frank Onyeka and he will never be Eagles material except in the eyes of conman Gernot Rohr.

    • @Kingston, I enjoyed write up immensely, but if you read what I wrote, I had said after we had qualified for Afcon. I meant the 1st game must be played by our main team (1st 11) and after winning that game, this ensures we have qualified for AFCON, then the 2nd game (last game of the afcon qualifier) can be persecuted by the 2nd eleven (the probables). The reason why I said this is to give the 2nd 11 playing time to see how good they really are. @Kingston, don’t we want our 2nd 11 to be as strong as the 1st 11? I believe that what we should be striving for? I believe striving for a strong 11 eleven and an equally strong bench is what we all want for the SE. If u see the names I put in that line up, 4get that blip in Benin city that team up there go stand most teams in Africa. Not belittling Benin rep or Lesotho but those boys should be able to at least earn a point from those 2 teams. Will you disagree that the team up there can’t win or draw Benin rep or lesotho? Maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to convey, as regards Etebo for instance, we know Ndidi is a starter in the 1st 11 so his position is guaranteed even Etebo’s position is also guaranteed but what option do we have. That list was to give the players in the current team some playing time while the likes of Ejuke, Collins, omeruo, Ajayi, Olayinka are giving the opportunity to stake a claim as to whether they are needed. You realize new players will be discovered and some players dropped from the team. How are u supposed to drop those players without giving then a chance to prove whether or not they belong to SE. For example, Lookman might be available next year, Ejuke has not been really tested, would you drop Ejuke just bcos Lookman is now available without testing Ejuke in real game situation? We have seen Simon and Kalu, and we know what they can do, however we haven’t seen enough of Dennis (but why does he have to score 15 goals to merit the SE and tge other wingers not given tge same criterion, Ejuke should also be given the same standard to meet, Simon too or is russian league better than Jupiter league? The same yardstick should be used for all players if you want to go there. we could also say that Simon, Kalu, Ejuke should all be playing champions league football to merit tge SE shirt) in SE colors to assess whether he is good enough. By assessing Dennis in real game scenario and he doesn’t meet up, his non inclusion will be justified as we will all know he can’t displace the person already there. You mention Ehiz (he may struggle in africa like Akpos did, so saying its a straight fight between him and Ebuehi is not fair to Aina, I tot we wanted to play guys in dia natural position not just deputising) who is still yet to come in but to be honest have we really seen Ebuehi enough especially in African environment? I personally would like to see how he holds up against strong African opposition. Glad to see he has added more muscle. Remember Calvin Bassey hasn’t even been mentioned to fight for the LB position. How can you discard Collins without testing him more, he may have had a difficult time in AFCON but he is a decent player. The same way the coach discovered Sanusi was how Collins was discovered and we all thought the LB position is fixed until Sanusi came. Again as regards to Omeruo, on a good day he is a solid defender and especially against African opposition will do a very fine job. I added Awaziem for tge same reason I added Etebo just for playing time as he often does get enough. Awaziem is a player that any coach would love to have, a left footed defender thats a unique and rare quality, he is strong and very solid. Awaziem is a main stay in the team cos of those qualities. As regards Iheanacho, again we have seen what he can do, GR preferred 2 at the front of his 442 formation is likely going to be Musa and Osimen, at best Iheanacho will be coming off the bench. He is a lethal striker in front of goal especially within the box but he can’t be sitting on the bench perpetually and expect him to be match fit, he can’t be a regular for SE by sitting on the bench na. You mentioned Maja, Moffi Arokodare of koln, I can only talk about Maja as I have seen him play for Bordeaux alot, personally I will pick Sadiq and Olayinka ahead of him in terms of finishing and overall striking position, thats just my preference. I haven’t seen Arokodare or Moffi in real game situation as I don’t blif in YouTube highlights, anybody can edit a game to make himself look good, not saying they aren’t amazing players tho. I have tried to watch Lorient and Koln games but haven’t seen both play. On the other hand, Olayinka is also a proven scorer, I have seen him play champions league (scored there) for Slavia Prague and in the league he plays very well and scores goals, he hasn’t been really given a chance to stake a claim to a SE shirt. All in all, there is only 1 new player invited from that list of players i mentioned which is Olayinka, the rest are already in the team, so the playing pattern won’t be too different compared to the 1st 11. I wasn’t advocating for wholesale changes but given guys who are already on the list playing time to justify whether they should be recalled or give way for others to join the team. I do understand the points you raised tho.I also understand the pressure on GR thats why I said specifically WHEN WE HAVE QUALIFIED FOR AFCON WITH A GAME TO SPARE. THIS GAME TO SPARE SHOULD BE PERSECUTED BY THE PROBABLES NOT THE MAIN 1ST 11. @kingston, I agree 100% with you that its very difficult for the coach, bxos what I think is good from my vantage point might be counterproductive from another person’s view. I really sori for GR, nothing he does will satisfy everyone. My friend always tells me “not everybody can be hapi at the same time” lol. I wish him all the best and will always support the SE whatever choice is made but won’t be shy to criticize the team if they dont do too well. Sori for the long grammar lol. IMHO

i think we all want improvement in Nigerian football but the football administration has to been blame for super eagle failures, I don’t think there is issue with players and the coach. The players played week in and out in Europe in the best environment and good pitch, NFF should select the best pitch and playing condition for eagles since there do not have control over away team pitch selection.
the best pitch in Nigeria is in Uyo but NFF change where eagle will play to the highest bidder which affect the way there play, Benin stadium is bad and very small which neutralize or make our fast wing play ineffective.

All criticisms he’s getting is constructive and we simply want him to up his game to the level that will help him to actualise his potential, otherwise he will simply fizzle out of reckoning like his senior brother Chidi. Everyone that watches his matches are all in unison on his below-par performance but only you maintains that he’s the best that could ever happen to SE. If you are certain of this, all you need to do is to simply post a particular match in which he gave a MVP performance in Huesca colour in the current La Liga to shut up your critics, otherwise you need to shut up for good on this Nwakali topic…….Biko!!!

Those of you who say, the reign of black coaches in the national team between 2010,(immediately after the world cup)till 2016,was catastrophic should know you lied. That same period we won the afcon title and qualified for the world cup only exiting at the round of 16.Also indigenous coaches gave us several u17 titles,1 Olympic silver medal, best performance till date at FIFA continental cup in 2005.So our black coaches are not naturally competent, they can be the if you give them excuses as you give your rohr, they can be the best possible. They have brought us joy in the past. They will believe in our gifted home talents, expose them and bring us more foreign exchange, thereby boosting the economy.Who knows,if we give them chance in the national team, Europeans scouts will be back to shop for players.Lrts have the right policies geared towards promoting local resources and uplift living standard of our people. This whites have contempt for anything black and don’t respect it.Infact we are arguably the flagship black nation, people look up to us, so we should have policies that promote black abilities and power.thank you.

    • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Imnas….thanks for the sense. Some of us for daring to ask and demand here like what you just shared now often get called names and bullied. So if you see me exchanging it with anyone here… Know they are those who continue to label our own as perpetually mediocre while praising the real mediocrity taking fat unmerrited allowance, that they have foistered on us. We have played indulged in the culture of football as a proud nation since 1947 and we are still hiring foreigners as coaches even electing to send them on refresher courses to improve them so that they can in-turn do a better job for us… The painful thing is that right about now we are spoilt for playing talents yet the mediocre results have remained a constant before, through and still after world cup 2018. We never ready to get sense…

    https://bsnsports.com.ng/disarray-as-ministers-man-yobo-splits-eagles-technical-crew/
Dear forumites, this is disturbing report I’ve just read. Though I can’t vouch for its veracity, all indications point to it as the truth.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Its not even 1 year since Yobo was ‘selected’ to be a part of the technical crew and its been tons of controversies already. 1st its rumors of the players complaining he’s always disrespecting them, then came a scoop out about him giving them contrary instructions to what Rohr gives them, now this. For someone who was kicked out of the National team by Keshi in 2013 because he “allowed himself to be used by the NFF to DISTABILIZE the team”, these are not good reports within just 4 months of being forced on the national team. Even if they are mere rumours, there can never be a smoke without fire. I case my rest…!

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

OK… @Dr.Drey… You know it was getting too much whenever you made submissions in reply to my own often attributing me as liar… I told you to shutup, for once again bad-mouthing a young player in the person of Kelechi Nwakali. You responded several times in the last days to my post always calling me a liar… I read most of those as childish and kept ignoring you because I know how loud and empty you are… But I am calling your bluff today and make bold to say you have never gotten as close to Nigeria’s border whether North or South as far as Kano or Badagry… You fat liar… That you have PhD and I suppose you got that 20 years ago and should be as a result somewhere in the range of 45yrs and above assuming you got your PhD at 25yrs which is an impossibility. A PhD holder will be very balanced in his arguments from exposure but you are not, rather you are loud and thuggish which smirks of a desperation to bully everyone into seeing your views as superior always… that is a sign of one with an incurable complex. Lastly… from always using the word “liar” on me which you always spelt as “lair” it is very clear you don’t have any PhD and honestly if you do have a B. Sc then it must be from one of those Nigerians Universities without accreditation from NUC… are you sure your B. Sc is not from Idumota… an Oluwole B. Sc? A PhD holder will never spell Liar as Lair… Don’t lie in a forum like this with very educated people… Monkey!

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Hohohahahaha….are you done…LMAO. Clap for yourself. You have just passed your audition into the psychiatric home where you belong. Let me bust your bubble more….LMAO…I never knew CNS was Elsevier, Springer or Taylor and Francis…..LMAO…it is not only the word ‘liar’ I mispel when I type, anybody who reads me post well will also notice errors like ‘you’ instead of ‘your’, ‘Rorh’ instead of Rohr, ‘som’ instead of ‘some’, wacth instead of watch, macth instead of match and many others…..these are just normal errors for someone who types as fast as I do and i dont owe anyone any apologies for it…LMAO. I dont need to put my posts through grammarly or word editor because I want to drop a quick comment on CSN and continue with whatever im doing…LMAO. So pls l;ook for something else to score cheap points instead of what is merely the printers devil….LMAO. So if the word lair is what is giving you frustrations in life, go ahead and deal with it. LMAO. Though I might spell liar as lair, but I wont lie I played at the highest level for MSV Disburg when I was NEVER registered on the team even for a day…LMAO.

Of course cant you see I am typing from my father’s farm in my village….? Cant you see I didnt even go to school at all…? That is why have so many followers (according to you) and dish out facts and on-point assessments better than your sorry ass. But you with your so-called education cant pass a day without ridiculing yourself here on CSN with one senseless gaffe or the other…LMAO.

Crossing Nigeria’s borders is apparently a lifetime achievement for you…its not a surprise for a poverty stricken fellow like you. The day apparently breaks differently where you are compared to Nigeria…LMAO. The sun also shines with a different colour compared to Nigeria, that is why an educated illiterate like you sees living within Nigeria’s bothers as a thing to be ashamed of and insulted for….LMAO. Once again look for something else to score cheap points with…LMAO. Perpetual failure like you. Just do well not to pass your failure to your generations coming after you.

You claim I’m loud and ever present but even the whole world knows I don’t talk stupidly like you. Despite the fact that you have built a house here on CSN and even comment more than I do, you keep talking like a retarded bastard. Everybody watched Nwakali and said he was awful, but it only an idiot like you who has not even watched him that claims he is better than everybody else in the SE. LMAO. Just as @Dr.Banks said above, you are just running around like a naked deranged madman with only you maintaining that he’s the best that could ever happen to SE…..LMAO.

A few days ago you gave an assessment of Ekong, writing many nasty things about him, you weren’t pulling him down then…..but everybody watched Nwakali and gave an apt assessment of his performance you your dull hypocrisy enveloped brain tags it as pulling him down….LMAO. Useless fool

Tell you star boy to continue coming good o….LMAO. When he has finished coming good we will invite him to our national team. But now he should concentrate of even getting game time at a district club, because going by his performances so far in the la liga, it will be hard for him to start a game unless his coach wants to give the starters a break. LMAO

Indeed Nwakali is better than all SE midfielders including Mikel….LMAO.

      Federal fool….!

Again, take a look at the top 10 countries on the FIFA ranking, most of the team have only home coaches, Portugal, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, England etc. Also, here in Africa, the top teams have indigenous coaches.Afcon 19 winner and runner up.Coaching is tied to somehow tied to culture with some elements of psychology.A fellow Nigerian would easily galvanize our boys to victory invoking cultural can-do spirits familiar to our boys.In such situations, they have same wavelength of determination to conquer the odds, dispelling lethargy in whatever form.It worked for belmadi, worked for Cisse as he missed the title by just whiskers. On the global stage, big starting with France England Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Portugal and more all have only indigenous coaches. Its not coincidence WC winner France is even coached by drschamp,a French man

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Drey… On the day that Super Eagles capitulated to Sierra Leone at Benin City… You crept under your air-tight crampy small burrow of wherever you live as a house and was completely mute and embarrassed such that @Omo9ja asked you to apologize to everyone on this forum on behalf of yourself, Rohr and your spurious and soundly-empty egoistic submissions on this forum that only insults people’s intelligence and seeks to muffle other divergent but topically relevant submissions of fellow forumites… A lot of people have observed you here, weighed you, and know you to be a fraud. I constantly get into anti-parallel views with @Ayphillydegreat, @UBFE, @Deo,@Kingston but we keep it civil and mutually respectful… You are the only one here who it’s custom for, to slight people and throw insults at them every now and then… and some of us are ready for you. Any of those your brigade of guards who also think it’s upon them like @Dr.Banks to queue behind you in zombeeship and jump out like a loyal ass-sniffing attack dog of yours will also be met with the maximum force of a sledge hammer from me… You @Dr.Drey still owes this forum apologies as demanded by @Omo9ja and despite refusing to do that… We let you continue here and it appears again, you have assumed your role of a self-appointed grizzly again to start what is a usual character of Bullying with mediocre views and football aspirations here… Everyone in Nigeria including Pinnick who recommended a coaching course to update knowledge to coach Rohr knows Nigeria is stuck on Rohr but here you are defending mediocrity as is the way you view your own self… Try me and you will regret going into battle with someone who sees through whimpy and childish character on a very civil platform. A PhD holder who cant spell a 4-letter word “Liar”

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Hahahahaha…Idiot. Your jealousy is the reason why you wake up every morning and you goal for that day is to fight Dr. Drey to a standstill and unfortunately you always fail…LMAO. This place was peaceful until you crept out of the soakaway where you sleep to attack only Dr.Drey’s comment and rain abuses. Its all up there for everyone to see. Complete idiot like you. Bloody hypocrite. When you insult others is lovely, but when you are given back a taste of your own medicine you start crying….LMAO. If I have a brigade of guards how is that your headache, how is that you life problems. Its the same levarage you have on CSN that Dr.Drey also has, but Dr.Drey has managed to amass a brigade of guards while you are a lonely leper…LMAO. It is simply because you are a pathetic fool. Nobody wants to be associated with senselessness. Nobody wants to be assocated with a stupid idiot that claims Nwakali is the best Nigerian midfielder out there….LMAO or Junior Ajayi is the best Nigerian strikr out there….go and tell that to you children in your village where they still live in trees and walk naked.
Who the hell are you….you are nothing but a sick pig. Many have towed the lane you want to tow and failed and like the perpetual failure you are you will still fail. You cant do more than throws insults from behind your keyboard. Some have gone as far as promising since 2 years ago that I will die but it was them that ended up suffering loss in their family. Others have gone as far as trying to block my internet protocol but they have failed too. So have done all they can to get me kicked out but they have been kicked out…LMAO. I repeat you cant do more than a dead pig. I will continue to shame evil people with sinister interests like you who want to use underhand methods to force their way into our football. All of you tools in the hands of racketeers will have me and other well meaning fans to contend with on this forum. Una never reach….! Bring it on…I have the time, energy and resources. Which ever way you want to come, physically or spiritually you will meet me here. Anyone who thinks he is shaking a dwarf is deceiving himself….it is himself he is shaking.
      Pathetic lying bastard…!!!

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Fool…..apologize to you for what…? For siting comfortably on top of our group or for qualifying once again for AFCON with games to spare. See hypocrite trying to bully everyone into becoming a racist like him o….LMAO. Apologize to you for not supporting a combination of 30% win ratio coaches of African champions (telling us lies that Cameroon does not have players as an excuse) to succeed a 56% win ratio coach…LMAO. So we should join you in telling FAT FAT lies becuase the coach has not allowed you and those who sent you to turn our SE to a market place where you market your substandard products like your topmost striker who struggles to score 10 goals per season in ordinary north africa. From being a striker you later claimed he is a support striker….from being a support striker you shifted him to attacking midfield…LMAO, just in order to forcibly convince us he has a place in the SE….LMAO. The same way you shifted Olayinka from his striking position to left midfield in order to convinve fellow daft fools like you that he can partner iwobi and etebo in our midifield….LMAO. Now it is Nwakali whom everyone is seeing to be abysmal that is our best midfielder out there….LMAO. No wonder you have become aggressive like a dog that was struck with madness. Your lies are being busted on daily basis on this forum and it is seriously frustrating you….LMAO. Go nd first apologize to your family for being such a senseless disgrace.

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr. Drey… since you, a PhD holder does not know the difference between “shutup” and “complete Idiot” what more should one make of you? Several times you called me liar yesterday and I just let it all slide… If you think you alone have an Arsenal of insults. Think again…

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

A blatant liar. Thats what you are. If ‘shut up’ and ‘idiot’ are not insults is “Whiteman’s asslicker” a compliment too….??? And you shamelessly come into public space to lie as usual that you were insulted first in other to curry pity where right there, the whole world can see the lunatic who woke up with the goal of singling out only Dr.Drey’s comment, out of every other comment about Nwakali, for direct attack and insult. Bloody hypocrite. You think you are smart. U dont know whom you are dealing with yet….LMAO

  • On Rohr’s case, there is nothing to drag and brag about, by this time of next year his results will speak for him if he is to be kept as the SE coach .
Stats and Results don’t don’t lie!

  • Nawa ooo
    Why insulting yourselves now?
On top wetin? The dollar wey NFF share give you or the recognition NFF gave you as a SE fan? This is amazing ooo!

  • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Ovie Ejaria is out there currently taking Bournemouth apart with comanging displays in the midfield, but one stupid idiot has been trying to hoodwink and rabble-rouse everyone into accepting a player who is still struggling to contribute anythinga meaningful of any sort to Huesca, as the BEST Nigerian midfielder out there…..LMAO. It is the same hypocrite who will accuse others of still using the nostalgia of Iheanacho’s u17 performances to rate him, whereas the 24yr old Nacho has achieved far greater things for himself in his career so far compared to his master who cannot even guarantee a place on the match day squad of a lowly district club in Spain.

    • Babad 3 years ago

Ovie still in the midfield oo, now 2-2. Superstar midfielder.

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Drey… It was you who called me “complete Idiot” you have consistently in the last days termed me a Liar… I read your comments and always just ignore the insults and you became emboldened as a result… Here you go again, you are watching Reading now and insulting me again. If I come for you now, your brigade commanders will start queuing up as you all do here… Bro… I go empty dictionary for your head o! Yesterday you said I don’t know statistics and probability when I mentioned the plight of black coaches in Europe… I let it slide because you don’t know the person you are talking to… You won’t know that I have gone on mathematics Olympiad competition for Nigeria… Guy if you must know why I stall for football it’s because of book. At 22 years I got offer for Asec Mimosas because of John Zaki link… No be everybody be person wey you go insult. Make your submission without mudslinging.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Hahahahaha…so ‘complete idiot’ pains you but it feels cool an gratifying for you to call your father’s mate an ‘idiot of a coach’….LMAO. When you were calling someone else a ‘whiteman’s asslicker’ your brain was not conscious of what our fingers were typing right…? This place was peaceful till you opened your wide mouth to single out Dr.Drey’s comment about Nwakali for insults despite many of us aligning in agreement that the kid has been nothing but a heap of hype and disappointment. I dont even know what crumbs the Nwakali boy is feeding you with that makes you battle ready to sacrifice your integrity just to sell him to 200m Nigerians when we are not all blind. But after tocuhing the tail of a serpent you ran to @Dr.Banks looking for pity like the youngest wife in a polygamous home, accusing someone else of insulting you first Na only mathematics Olympiad you go…? You nor go National Spelling Bee too…this one that you also scrutinize the letters or every word written on CSN….LMAO? I hate to do this but I will do it in public for the very last time….FYI my 3 degrees were in mechanical engineering and my 3rd degree specialty was in ballistics and shock propagation….we are talking plenty of continuum algebra here…. So if na high school mathematics Olympiad dey make you crase go pour ice water on top your head.

Only you played at the highest level for MSV Duisburg. Only you played every position on the pitch as a footballer. Only you was in U17 camp (how the U17 coaches dropped a player who could play every position on the pitch beats imagination). Only you could have signed for Enyimba, now you got offers from Asec Mimosas. How your association with John Zaki relates to the topic of discussion beats imagination. John Zaki was in ASEC till 1998 and you could have signed for Asec at 22, but you claimed you were in U17 camp of 1995 with dem James Obiora….Continue with your moonlight tales….they will surely catch up with you as you tell more of them.

  • @King S…..

When we talk they say we’ve slave mentality and we kuku keep quiet and allow them do it the way they want…..

What an elderly man sees while squarting, a young person can never see even if he climbs a mountain top…..

The only problem i have with them is that; when their out cry back fires, the start looking for whom to blame…. Whom to fire/sack….
Instead of them to stay and face the reality, they quickly develop 2 edges like swords and turn their mouth to sing another tune….

bournemouth 3: Reading 2. Ejaria played well but capitulation by Reading. Bournmouth has been the better side in the 2nd half tho.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Reading coach must be fired. He is tactically clueless. We dont give a damn he has led the team to 2nd place on the table. His past results does not matter. How can he not know he is supposed to change his tactics and park the bus instead of allowing bournmouth to equalize and then go ahead to even win. Like Rohr, like Tuchel, like Paunovic. They must all be fired…..LMAO

      • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Lol @Drey. But GR has big time selection headache in his hands ooo. I was just thinking to myself and ciuldnt help but lick my lips. Imagine competition for places in the SE team. Shehu battling Ndidi for DM,
Ejaria battling Aribo and Etebo for the central midfield position. Iwobi and Musa battling for the AM position. Sadiq (my opinion) pushing Osimen for the top 9 position. Lookman and Ejuke competing with Chukwueze for the RW. Simon, Dennis, even Olayinka (if given a chance) pushing Kalu for the LW position. Aina, Ebuehi, Ehiz battling for 2 RB
positions, Bassey, Collins and Sanusi pushing for 2 LB positions. Balogun, Ekong, Omeruo, Awaziem, Apkoguma, Adarabioyo challenging for the 4 CB positions. Osigwe, Uzoho, Okoye, Yakubu, Akpeyi all battling for 3 goalie spots. Its indeed a mouth watering side. I have a question for everyone, I would appreciate an answer please. What if we take only 2 goal keepers and use the 3rd spot for an outfield player, what will happen? It this against the rules? Will we be fined? The truth is that the chances of 2 goalies being injured in a competition to me is very low. One goalie being injured is understandable but two? I think the 3rd spot for a goalie is a waste in my view. Most 1st choice goalies play 80% of their club games without injury and in tournaments like worldcup, only 16 countries are in net for more than 3 games, only 8 countries are guaranteed 5 games, only 4 teams are guaranteed 6 games and only 2 teams are guaranteed 7 games. So whats the point in wasting that 3rd goal keeping spot that could have been used for a player that could add more value to a team.

        • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Ayphillydegreat… most teams will prefer an outfield player but unfortunately it is a standard that goalkeepers have three slots on a tournament team. It used to be twenty two which then was based on two players per position.

          • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Thanks Jimmyball, I always like reading urs, Drey’s and many others comments here, its always refreshing but both of u have to take it easy. Someone once said that BFF nor GR pay us here, so why waste the energy insulting each other, to me na waste of energy that should be geared towards the sports ministry, NFF and other governmental agencies to improve our society. In real life I think u and Drey as well as other wen dey insult each other go even be friends if na anything wen nor involve SE or football. Anyhow,
I know its a standard (the 3 goalie rule) but has that standard being questioned, bcos something is a standard does not meant it can’t be challenged. Say as an example, if as a manager i designated a player i intend to be an outfield player as a 3rd goalie and in a tournament i decide to use him as an outfield player, will i be fined by FIFA? Will it be considered cheating? We have seen cases where an outfield player has gone in net when a team has used up their 3 substitutes and a goalie gets a red card. I personally think the 3rd goal keeper’s spot is a waste. Person never finish using the 2nd wan na tge 3rd wan person go use? E nor make sense. Dem 4 do 21 outfield players and 2 keepers. Soccer is mostly about scoring goals as that why most people watch it.

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Drey… I won’t drag your family into this forum ever. But I hope everyone in the forum can see how you go… You now have to drag my father who is late to discussions about Rohr shey. Well my dad will be 70 if he was to be alive and I am sure he is older than Rohr, but yes, I have no right to call Rohr idiot and I apologize to the forum for doing that… I am sure you are happy now! The comments made about Rohr was due to his penchant for having something to blame for underperformance of his team… Honestly the pitch in Free Town was playable. Austin Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo once went to Kenya on a mission called the battle of mombassa towards qualifocation for Atlanta 96 and played under a 2pm scorching sun on a bumpy pitch clearly used to be a disadvantage to Nigeria but yet walloped Kenya 4 – 0 to further its qualification towards Atlanta 96. So we must be honest, our team has been average for a while now and they still are… not for want of quality but for whack and inept tactics from Gernot Rohr.

Chukwueze on for villareal against Real Madrid. Madrid leading by 1:0

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Could have had an immediate impact. Great effort but over the bar. Great 1st few touches.

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Chukwueze earns a penalty for villareal. He has been a torn in Madrid hyde. His impact has been immediate. He has completely changed tge game for villareal. He has really improved his game. I hope he keeps improving.

    • Yea!
His presence was felt when he came on and he eventually won the penalty that shared the points, it’s a good day in office for Samuel Chukwueze, I really do hope he keeps his feet firm on the pedals.

    • Dr Drey 3 years ago

Chukwueze for me is best maximized as an impact sub. Him starting and facing a defender whose energy level is still 100% is terror. But him coming off the bench and facing a defender whose energy level has dropped to 60 or 50% is hell fire. Trust me within 15 mins of coming on as a sub Samu can create 3 solid goal scoring opportunities.

A true leader will seek advice from his cabinet members and decides what is the best decision to make in this situation.

I am not sorry to say this, Mr. Pinnick doesn’t have that quality and He is very bossy. What a leader.

Can we imagine that, we are leading in our group and we, the core fans of the team are not happy with the performances of our team most especially in this year’s Afcon qualifiers and that almost led to the sack of the gaffer.

Mr. President, history will remember you.

Many thanks to you Mr. sports minister. Together we stand and devided we fall. We appreciate the level of your patriotism.
Hmm. You are indeed a true leader.

We can see very clearly now that Oga Rohr do not have anything so spectacular to offer the Super Eagles no more.

Mr. Pinnick, don’t tell me that you are not collecting bribe from Mr. Gernot Rohr o.

This is a wake up call. This man, Mr Amaju doesn’t care about us but his pocket. If you don’t care about the image of the Super Eagles yes, we do care about it.

We are watching you and Oga Agu and coach Rohr so closely. I won’t say beyond that.

It is well. God bless Nigeria!!!

Yeah, just like rohr sought the advice of yobo and he got garbage as expected. I have no doubt in my mind that the idea of the changes made by rohr on that very day came from yobo. Rohr maybe thought it’ll be a good idea to at least listen to his assistant but it back fired big time.

Here’s another report. And it pains to know that the players haven’t been paid their bonuses since last AFCON. Naso den hate Rohr reach wey players dey suffer am too?

If only they could channel this Hatred for Rohr to developing Nigerian football, it’ll be okay.

Someone should please tell the Minister, that he is the Minister of Sports, not Football.
