Yorkshire spinner Josh Poysden does not feel any extra responsibility on his shoulders because of Adil Rashid’s departure.
Rashid has now gone off to join up with England for what is likely to be the remainder of the summer with the World Cup and Ashes on the horizon, meaning Poysden is now the county’s number one spin option.

Rather than worry about the added responsibility now placed upon him, the former Warwickshire leggy is focusing on enjoying the season with the White Rose. “It was really nice to play the first three games with Rash,” he told the York Press. “I’ve only spent little periods with him before, so to spend a decent amount of time with him and pick his brains was nice.
Chewing the fat about leg-spin with someone as skilful as him will be really beneficial. “To be honest, when I saw Rash was available, I wasn’t sure I’d play, so it was nice to get that chance. “I haven’t really thought too much about being the senior spinner now he’s gone. I just crack on and focus on enjoying it.”
