Chidera Ejuke was named Man of the Match in Sevilla’s 1-0 win against Al Ittihad in Friday’s Trofeo Antonio Puerta Pre-season game.
The game which was played inside the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, saw Ejuke standout among his teammates as he helped them to their first win in Pre-season.
Sevilla’s goal was scored by Lucas Ocampos in the 42nd minute from the penalty spot.
Al Ittihad had the chance to go in front but former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema missed his spot kick.
Heading into the game against Al Ittihad, Sevilla has lost their two Pre-season games to Orlando Pirates and Sporting Lisbon.
The Trofeo Antonio Puerta is in remembrance of former Sevilla midfielder, Antonio Puerta, who died on 28 August 2007, after he was affected with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, three days after suffering a series of cardiac arrests during a La Liga game against Getafe on the 25th.
Ejuke would hope to put in another top performance when Sevilla take on Consadole Sapporo on Tuesday, July 30.

It will be beautiful if we can create a different Nigeria, where we will set up a different sports administration with know how qualified persons. Then invite or build qualified players who will represent soccer loving Nigerians and leave NFF with their players to continue their Humpty Dumpty cruise catching with themselves. But like Super league this dream is not possible………
How on earth is this guy not playing for Nigeria. His quality is worth benching some first 11.
After Victor Moses, this is the direct replacement.
With the NFF dragging their heels over the appointment of a new Super Eagles coach after Finidi George failed to grab the opportunity of a lifetime gifted him, it is hard for me to build a mental profile of players to be invited for September’s Afcon qualifiers.
If we have a coach, at least we can use his tactical philosophy to try to second-guess players likely to fit his profile.
If the new coach will lay significant emphasis on wingplay like Finidi and Peseiro, then Ejuke will fit the bill.
Playing in the prestigious Spanish league raises his profile. His dribbling abilities, pace and willingness to run at defenders are selling points.
I pray we get a coach who plots from the wings so Ejuke can be considered.
He is exciting to watch. He uplifts when in flight and enthralls when taking out defenders. His defensive acumen is seen as inadequate by some observers which is troubling.
Imagine Lookman on the left, Osimhen in the middle and Ejuke on the right with a level of understanding among the three that breeds productivity laced with quality service from midfield. I think they will be too hot to handle.
Anyways, I love pacy wingers hence my desire to see Ejuke return in the not too distant future.
NFF (Around June 10 after technically dismissing Finidi): “IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, we’ll appoint a world class foreign technical advisor for the Super Eagles. ”
6.5 weeks or 45 days after: Crickets.
Same. Same. The same cycle of hurriedly packaging a shocking appointment at the 11th hour about to repeat itself.
Just Saintfeit already. You can no longer afford Renard. His profile and price has skyrocketed.
I called him EBE ANO for a reason back then.
Recall his international debut against Tunisia? The way he was toying with Tunisia defenders?
He did lose form for a while, but looks like he’s on his way back. And now, he doesn’t even dribble too much, which was a weakness in the past. His game is much more pragmatic and productive. More mature.
Let’s just hope he remains in good form and injury free. Nigeria will enjoy this lad yet.
Shola Shoretire just left Manchester to PAOK because he has not been given enough playing time even though they wanted him to stay. He is an attacking midfielder still young it will be better for NFF to approach him now before he blossoms. We need attacking midfielders that are quite intelligent and passionate about football
On point my brother
With Troost Ekong also at PAOK, Shola Show has a “big brother” there. NFF can use Troost to finish work.
Wot am thinking too.
The guy is very intelligent and I think that’s all that we need now
