How about Deborah Abiodun
And Plumtre ?
This list is a disservice. Madugu should have recalled Akide, Omagbemi, Nkwocha (God bless you, Onomunu) na.
What is Okobi and Francisca, even Ogbonna doing in 2026 list.
My bad, Onyenedizie, Ajakaye and past under 20s are not yet “ripe” to learn the ropes yet.
God forbid, (although we know He doesn’t forbid things from happening) Plumptre, Alozie, Deborah, Esther do not recover in time from their injuries (remember, most “competitive” women’s leagues will be on break now so match fitness will be suspect) for the WAFCON in 7 weeks time, Madugu has practically revealed his Wafcon squad with this FINAL friendlies with many players assuming their age to be Al hassan Yusuf’s super eagles age (allegedly, lol).
Chioma okafor, Nigeria happened to you. Most likely, you didn’t “pay well”.
This means one thing: as long as the “known” have not retired themselves from the national team, they will play till they are 90 years old for falcons as long as Madugu and local coaches are in the saddle of the team.
The exceptional stars in falconets and even flamingos go wait tire oh.
Waldrum girls are already nearing their football shelf life but with this list, many will still be relevant by 2031 world cup.
Wetin I expect from Madugu before? If e no be Chelle, e no fit be like Chelle.
To put this in proper perspective (I’ll sound like a broken record), these Senegal matches will be Falcons 5th and 6th matches after they won the last WAFCON in July last year – 11 months ago (that is 1 match every 2 months when WAFCON begins in July (fifa created multiple windows where at least 12 matches could have taken place but “nobody wants to play Super falcons” was the swan song).
Bye bye Waldrum. The “dark days” are back with a vengeance.
And this is a world cup qualifiers tournament.
So, we should rely on the brilliance of the players now to save face?
Gusau, may your affliction on Nigerian football end really in September.
So since Waldrum left, no foreign-born Nigerian girl has signified any form of interest in the SF apart from Comfort Erhabor …..???
No problem.
The team has since been hijacked by agents and nff crooks, so anybody expecting changes or new foreign borns will wait for long.
Waldrum fought them till he left (one of the reason his assistant was blocked from going to the WC the last time), Madugu is already compromised by those crooks and for him to stay on the job, he must do their bids.
I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to a true legend of the Super Falcons who, at the ripe, right and undeniable age of 31, chose to call time on her illustrious national team career, paving way for youngsters to take the torch in the attacking line up of the team.
Or at least, that was the idea.
Ifeoma Onumonu was a beacon of professionalism. She played with her heart on her sleeves and set the right example for younger players who should take her place.
Ifeoma did her part, as an active player, as a retired player. She endured countless criticisms from armchair critics like me who have never kicked an apple in a garden all my life, let alone play football at any level.
Yet she stood tall, stood strong and stands out as the perfect example of a professional who was determined for the Super Falcons never to become a nursing home for geriatric grandmothers whose best are far far behind in the rear view mirror.
Never, has waiting for a Super Falcons list carry the odour of disappointment as this current dispensation.
League champion in Turkey Flourish Sebastian; hot shot and highest goal scorer in the NWFL Atume Doosuur of Edo Queens, deadly striker Abrasion Uwah of Rivers Angels and Ex-youth international Opeyemi Ajakaiye of Robo Queens with at least 6 goals in the league, hang in there my lovely beautiful wonderful sisters – God dey!
The exclusion of Flourish Sebastian. What is the reason?
A girl who has been on fire this season, scoring goals and making assists?
Maybe she never “shake body”.
No pay, no play.
