Premier League: Ajayi In Action As Man City Hammer West Brom; Saka On Target In Arsenal’s Win At Southampton

Semi Ajayi and his West Brom teammates were at the receiving end of a heavy defeat as they fell 5-0 at home to Manchester City in Tuesday’s Premier League game, Completesports.com reports.

The win took City temporarily to the top on the log on 41 points just a point above Manchester United.

City were 4-0 up at the break after a scintillating display, with Gundogan, Joao Cancelo and Riyad Mahrez all on target.

Raheem Sterling added a fifth shortly after the break as City eased off the gas and played keep ball for the remainder of the game.

The heavy defeat for the Baggies keeps them 19th in the table, six points from safety.

And at St. Mary, Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Southampton 3-1, avenging Saturday’s FA Cup loss to the Saints.

Arsenal climb to eight position on 30 points and are just five points away from fourth place.

Stuart Armstrong gave Southampton the lead with less than five minutes on the clock but Nicolas Pepe equalised for Arsenal on eight minutes.

Bukayo Saka put Arsenal 2-1 ahead on 39 minutes before Alexandre Lacazette added the third goal on 72 minutes.

And in other results Eberechi featured for Crystal Palace who lost 3-2 at home to West Ham United while Leeds beat Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park.

Saka is far smarter than the whole of Super eagles players except Iwobi.

  • AJayi! Ajayi! Ajayi! Hmmmm. You may be part of the Super Eagles team but I don’t see you being ahead of defenders like Leon, Ekong, Awaziem, Akpoguma etc. If tosin also switches to Nigeria, he will also be ahead of you. I dont mean any disrespect, its just the way I feel.
    Also, Note this player:
Abraham Marcus, remember the name, he is a future star. Plays just like saka. Currently in the Portuguese second division. Scoring goals regularly too. With a little encouragement and exposure he could over take chukwueze.

No matter how good you are, u can’t play everywhere in a team, @ ajayi, a winning team is always a winning team, comparing players right now isn’t good at all, the coach knows what’s best the guys needs our encouragement let put sentiments away, up naija….

@Sportsfan… I used to think you were a mature commentator. Your personal feeling about Semi Ajayi hold no weight and that your Abraham Marcus is just regular and average for now… Nothing special biko. We should be talking of getting Bobby Adekanye to stand in for Chukwueze or Joshua Zirkzee…

Ajayi is not a bad player he just have to leave west brom to develop a winning mentality.
