Premier League: Iheanacho Misses Penalty, Ndidi Benched In Leicester’s Draw At Crystal Palace

Kelechi Iheanacho missed the chance to open his Premier League goals account this season, after failing to convert from the penalty spot in Leicester’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on Monday, Completesports.com reports.

Iheanacho was selected to lead the line for Leicester while first choice striker Jamie Vardy was among the substitutes.

He had the chance to put the Foxes ahead on 20 minutes but saw his spot kick saved by Vicente Guaita in goal for Palace.

In the 72nd minute of the game which was his eight appearance in the league, the Super Eagles star was replaced by Demarai Gray.

Wilfred Ndidi who recently returned from injurywas an unused substitute while Eberechi Eze was also benched in the game.

After a goalless first half, it was Palace who broke the deadlock in the 58th minute thanks to Wilfred Zaha who finished off a counter-attacking move.

But with seven minute remaining in the game Harvey Barnes rescued a point for Leicester as he created a bit of space for himself before drilling the ball into the corner.

Leicester are now temporarily second on 29 points and Palace 13th on 19 points in the league table.

I think its time to drop iheanacho from SE squad, because after all the improvements he made last season. It’s like he has gone back to being odogwu…I think Rohr needs to talk to him about going out on loan for first team opportunities..I love kele but the truth is he peaked in 2013 fifa U17

Whenever i hit the nail on the head, people get upset, iheanacho is not a seriouse striker, he is too soft and very inconsistent, i dont know when obi will become a man, at the age of 23 he still play like an upcoming striker, same artitude with eze, they are gifted but less usefull, iheanacho have spent six years in the premierleague yet he still doesnt command the ball, ahmed musa still rocks better than him on the ball, oldschool players like welbeck defoe and walcoth still dictates morethan iheanacho, abraham, zaha, ayew, saka, even iwobi, all came to meet iheanacho there but they are all more effective than iheanacho, i dont even know the best position for him anymore with the eagles, if he play 9 we begin to miss ighalo, if he goes to wing he doesnt command like musa, moses and chukueze take him to 8 no level. I expected him to copy alot from mahrez who is also a left footer and good freeckick taker, he left a position that i expected iheanacho to keep for him self yet no level no hope, many of us remember how joe cole rose from a normal chelsea bench player to become one of chelsea and england greatest playmakers of all time, it was like margic nobody suspected how hardworking the guy was. He understudeed roben, damian duf, wright philip and when he got his chances he sealed it, same case of kingsley koman of bayern see how impressive he has become after the retirement if roben and ribery, i am hoplessly disapointed in our own iheanacho the surposed odogwu.
