Premier League Reaches New Heights

Since the competition started on August 15, 1992 the Premier League has produced some magical sporting moments and has really put the English game on the map worldwide.

1. An inspirational title race

It might have been a two-horse race but the quality of both winners Manchester City and eventual runners-up Liverpool was outstanding.

For the Reds to finish on an impressive 97 points and not win the Premier League title is unprecedented and just shows how hard Pep Guardiola’s side had to work to retain their crown.

2. European domination

England can enjoy a proud moment in the spotlight and exhibit everything the Premier League has to offer when the Champions League and Europa League finals take place.

For the first time in history, one country will provide all the teams for both finals, with Liverpool taking on Tottenham in the Champions League, while Arsenal face Chelsea in the Europa League showpiece.

This achievement again shows the quality of the Premier League and how clubs have managed to fight on numerous fronts to dominate in Europe.

3. Fierce battle for qualification

The fight to secure Champions League and Europa League football is fiercer than ever and now the ‘Top Four’ that dominated English football for so long is well and truly gone.

Who would have thought a decade ago that Arsenal and Manchester United would finish outside the top four?

The battle for Europa League football is also firing up, with the likes of Wolves, Everton, Leicester City, West Ham and Watford all pushing the big boys to feature in the competition.

These three reasons just show this has been a Premier League season to remember and why the anticipation for the next campaign could not be higher.
