Co-owner Tim Gredley has confirmed Pretty Pollyanna will not feature in next weekend’s 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Pretty Pollyanna landed the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville last year and was expected to challenge for the coveted event at British Horse Racing’s headquarters after that impressive performance.
However, the Michael Bell-trained charge produced two disappointing displays at Newmarket towards the end of 2018, finishing third and fourth, and that cast doubts over her participation in the 1,000 Guineas.

It has now been confirmed the three-year-old will not be present at HQ next weekend after failing to shine in her work over seven furlongs and jockey Frankie Dettori will now have to look for a new ride.
Revealing the news, co-owner/breeder Gredley was quoted as saying by www.racingpost.com said on Saturday morning: “We have decided to take her out of the 1,000 Guineas. We have to do what is right for the filly. “She is a Group 1 winner from last year and hopefully she will come back later on.”
