Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has disclosed that a full squad of 23 players is essential to win trophies rather than relying on just a starting eleven.
Following a 2-2 draw with Stade Rennais where new signing Ferran Torres came off the bench to score twice, the coach noted that players returning from heavy international schedules or the World Cup, such as Ousmane Dembélé, will receive planned recovery time.

The Spanish boss made it clear that past achievements do not guarantee a spot, demanding high readiness and daily effort from every member of the Paris Saint-Germain roster during the Ligue 1 and European campaigns.
“There is nothing new here,” Luis Enrique told the club’s website on Thursday. “Last year, and in previous years, we have had players given recovery time. Dembele made a big effort to be involved in the two Super Cup finals, he will be an essential player for us.
“It’s important to underline that the players who came back with less rest time because they played at the World Cup, I’m always open to giving them rest time. It’s very important to know how to switch off.”
