Put: Guinea Paid For Loss Of Concentration Against Super Eagles

Guinea coach Paul Put has blamed his team’s lack of concentration for their 1-0 loss to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Wednesday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Group B clash at the Alexandria Stadium, reports Completesports.com.

Kenneth Omeruo netted the winning goal for Nigeria in the 73rd minute of the keenly contested encounter.

The Syli Nationale who held debutants Madagascar to a 2-2 draw in their opening Group B game have one point from two games.

They will need to win their final Group B game against the Swallows of Burundi to have any hopes of progressing into the Round of 16.

“We had a small moment of lapse of concentration from a set piece and we conceded,” Put told reporters after the game.

“It is disheartening because this was an important game for us which we really needed to win.

“It is now tough for us; we must win against Burundi in our final game to stand a chance.”

Guinea will face Burundi in their final Group B game at the Al-Salam Stadium on Sunday.

The way this coach bragged ehn…coupled with the fact that Guinea really needed this match, you would expect that they will pull the heavens down from the sky…abi na the sky dem go pull down from the heaves sef. You would think they will be all over the SE the whole 90 mins and disgrace Daniel Akpeyi and the entire Nigeria defence. The fact that they couldnt even get a clear sight at goal, or get akpeyi to make a decent or top drawer save, despite all the big names they’ve got shows how much we neutralized them technically and tactically.

I’ld rather have a coach who does not brag but silently delivers result without the team moving out of 2nd gear than have one that promises heaven and earth and then i’ll have to start looking for anti-duretic pills to swallow after the game.

It’s braggards like Paul put abi na mama put that people like Mr Segun Odegbami would rather want as head coach for the Super Eagles.
