Before the game, Costa Rica forward Anthony Contreras said that “Spain do not scare him”.
Now, Spain will be the subject of his nightmares into the foreseeable future.
After beating Nigeria’s Team Q by 2 goals to nil, they thought they were ready to face Spain. E remain small, Spain could have spelled out COSTA RICA with goals today.
We’ve seen some vindictive thrashings in the first few days of the competition. Violent, ruthless spankings. And a few upsets as well. Makes exciting viewing for the neutrals. And the fun is just beginning.

This is the Costa Rica team that thrashed the NPFL boys(super Eagles team B) and tomorrow sports minister, Dosu, odegbami and Co will suggest our building the super eagles around home based players.

If Costa Rica beat Nigeria by two goals and now the same team was thrashed by whooping 7 goals to nothing by Spain.
Tell Nigerians, if Nigeria have had the misfortune to meet Spain during this W/C, what would have happened. Tell you what. Nigeria could have been beaten by (7+2) = 9 goals to zero.
Let’s give thanks to Ghana for saving us the worst humiliations of historic proportion that the super eagle would have received by Superpower Spain.

Yesteryears, it was Xavi, today it’s 18 yr old Gavi, the latest installment in Spain’s pantheon of midfield geniuses. And the other guys in the middle, old man Busquets at 34 yrs of age, and another teenager Pedri at 19 yrs of age. Incredible to think Luis Enrique entrusted his midfield to 2 teenagers at a world cup. The Spanish team’s crisp passing and movement destroyed Costa Rica.
Spain = strong defense, fluid, dynamic midfield, and a deadly attack.
