Former Super Eagles forward, Julius Aghahowa claimed the Black Stars of Ghana got their approach wrong in the 2-0 defeat to Uruguay on Friday.
Otto Addo’s side were eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup following the agonizing defeat at the Al Janoub Stadium, Al-Wakrah.
Andre Ayew missed a penalty before Giorgian De Arrascaeta netted a brace for Uruguay.

“Ghana got it wrong from the start, there was no spirit of urgency in their play,” Aghahowa told Brila FM, Lagos.
“The fire started in the second half when they were already 2-0 down. If they had started that way from the first half, things might have looked differently.
“They were punished, they fought for it, but it was not enough to secure a win or even a draw.”

Truthfully, Nigerians has a lot of soul searching to do tho
Ghana didn’t have a team after the afcon but we managed to put an ad hoc team in place, brought a new technical team and we still managed to eliminate Nigeria from the wc, a NIGERIAN team that has been together for years!
My question to u is this doc, why didn’t Nigeria scored in Kumasi? What prevented NIGERIAN from not even scoring in front of ur fans!
The NIGERIAN team was worst than the Ghanaian team and it’s good that Ghana prevented the disaster Nigeria wldve suffered in Qatar!

Nigeria would have done better than Ghana because of our wnning mentality over Europeans and outside Africa teams. Nigeria always bring to the table whenever playing a serious match with much at stake like the world cup. There is this low self esteem with the Ghanians, thinking that every red skin people are better but Nigerians lawys look for ways to challenge that mentality on and off the pitch.
Nigeria lost it by including foreign born players in the match in Ghana who plays Europeans style of football instead of Africa.
Nigeria would have secured 6 points in that Ghana group.
We know how to score penalties any day any time.
Ghana lacks winning mentality against the red skin teams.
You can still argue but we have better winning mentality than Ghanians.
The game is not only about tspping the ball but believing in yourself that you can do it and go there and deliver period.
