Rangers clinched their ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Sunday.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men made a bright start and went ahead in the 30th minute through Chidiebere Nwobodo.
Nwobodo grabbed his second goal 10 minutes into the second half to put the Flying Antelopes firmly in control.
Ikorodu City, who were also chasing a continental ticket, pulled one back through Moses Ali in the 58th minute, but Rangers held on to secure the win and the league crown.
Rangers top the standings with 68 points from 38 matches.
Rivers United secured second place following a convincing 3-0 victory over Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Chijioke Mbaoma scored twice for Rivers United, while Aniekeme Okon added the third goal.
Shooting Stars secured third spot despite going down to a 1-0 defeat against Niger Tornadoes in Minna.
Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai fired home the decisive goal for the hosts from the penalty spot four minutes before the break.
Shooting Stars will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Enyimba maintained their top-flight status following a comfortable 3-0 home win over Katsina United.
Stanley Dimgba put Enyimba in front on 27 minutes.
Dimgba doubled the People’s Elephant lead 10 minutes later.
Uwana Asuquo scored the third for Enyimba on 87 minutes.

El-kanemi Warriors were relegated to the Nigeria National League, NNL, following the defeat.
Plateau United defeated Kano Pillars 1-0 at the New Jos Stadium with Victor Dawa netting the winning goal in stoppage time.
At the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa Bayelsa United recorded the biggest win of the day thrashing Kwara United 4-0.
Peter Ebimobiwei, Saro Loveday, Stephen Wisdom, and Nneoyi Ofem were on target for the home team in the game.
In Kano, Barau FC defeated Nasarawa United 3-0.
Joseph Atule scored the game’s curtain raiser two minutes before the break.
Sunday Anthony, and Adamu Hussein added two more goals late in the game.
